“I recently purchased a Presonus ADL600 2 channel microphone preamp and it needed to be re-tubed; the noise floor was creeping above 80dB and ringing was starting to become noticeable. There are 2 6922 tubes per channel, and a 12AT7 as well. Replaced the stock Electro-Harmonix tubes with Platinum grade Gold Lion's and Wow-ee-wow! The ADL600 sounds great with the stock EH tube config, but exchanging the 6922's for Gold Lions really open it up. I replaced the stock Ruby 12AT7 with a NOS Mullard 6201, the word that comes to mind is LUSH. It's like going from a $2 chocolate bar to a 10$ chocolate bar. Everything I have put through it (Mix Buss, Upright Bass, Electric Bass, Drum Overheads, Vocals, Ac Guitar, Tambourine) comes out sounding full and rich, three-dimensional and HUGE. LOADS of headroom! They take this ADL600 into world-class microphone preamp territory. Thanks to Upscale for the Platinum graded tubes and good prices!”

“Bought this to replace my electro Harmonix tube as I wasn't thrilled with the sound I was getting. When I compared them, the electro Harmonix seemed to dip the kids which sounds ok in isolation, but lacked presence in the mix. The gold lion to me was a little less likeable in isolation at first until I understood how to work with it. It's highs are smoother and take eq better. The whole thing is much easier to use in a mix. I am very happy with the result!”

“This is a great tube, well built and looks great !! I use them in a intergraded preamp they sound great and all purpose tube sounds great with anything dvd's , cd's , records etc... They got a great orange glow .. has good clean sound and good 3d sound stage ... great tube thanks!!!”

“I feel the gold lion tubes/ platinum grade are fantastic, underrated tubes. I use a set of GL's in my lyr 2 to run my Alpha Dogs and the result is fantastic. The bass on my AD's is a bit deeper, more textured. Furthermore t h e mids and highs are more detailed, with out adding any warmth . The soundstage, compared to my stock tubes, has become more holographic, and overall the sound signature has become more transparent and textured. I feel the gold lions are underrated and are a good choice for those on a budget”
