I replaced my Tung Sol EL34Bs with these KT77s. I loved the sound of the Tung Sols, but am blown away by the sound of the Gold Lions. The imaging is huge and they make my cheap Chinese amp punch way above its weight and I’m only 20 hours in. These were everything they were hyped as and more.

Great sound and overall much better than the stock PL EL34s, alas the octet died after approximately 800 hours. Didn't expect such a short life and because the gradual and on/off performance loss I suspected other components in the system. Will not touch them again!

My favorite output tube. All the virtues of a good EL34 plus more extension and clarity.

Noticeable improvement over my stock Prima Luna Tubes. Slightly less bass but more clarity and detail.

It can be difficult to decide which brand of tube to go with, but I found the Upscale Audio website very helpful in determining the right tubes for my amp. I think these tubes have really brought the amp back to an "as new" state.

I bought these from Upscale about 3 months ago and at first did not like them. They sounded very grainy. I have an EVO 100i driving Kef R3’s. As they broke in and my ears became more used to the change from the PL 34’s, they became more enjoyable. Now after maybe 70 hours of use, I really do like them. They initial graininess has turned into what I would describe as tonal texture. If you have ever heard a saxophone played up close, you can hear the air blowing against the reed. If you have ever heard an upright bass being played up close you can hear the string being plucked by the players fingers and the sound of the instruments wood body resonating. These are the types of improvements I have heard. They bass seems somewhat deeper while the mids and highs remain clear and balanced. Give these tubes time to “break in” and you might be very pleased.

Marvelous tubes. My Stereo 70 sounds significantly better! Break in time was 20 more hours. Thank you for recommendation of tubes.
