“I rate at a 4 only because I still have a set of Ei KT-90's. In my system these are the gold standard against which all others are compared. That being said I not sure I can add much more to what others have done such a good job in describing. The bass is awesome but the mid range is where its beauty really lies. Voices come through with clarity and almost buttery texture. Liquid might be another way to describe it. Highs are extended without being brittle or sharp. One other note, these guys took at least 30-40hrs to really open up. It was long enough that I actually started doubting my purchase. But just as I was about to go back to my T.S. kt-120's they just bloomed. Service was excellent as always. You just almost can't go wrong with Upscale.”

“Replaced my Tung Sol 120’s with the Gold Lion KT-88‘’s. Won’t say they sound better, however they do sound different and it is the sound I prefer when listening to lp’s. I know have All Gold Lion tubes in my Rogue Integrated amp.”

“I am using these in my Rogue Cronus Magnum III integrated. I wanted to compare them to the Tung-Sol KT120's that I was using, which I think sound really good. They have been in my system for close to a month, so they are at least close to being fully burned in. I don't notice a huge difference in sound. There seems to be slightly more upper bass and a more lush mid-range. I don't hear anything lost from moving to the KT88's. I think the amp sounds great with these Gold Lions, but not sure it was worth the cost. You don't know until you try.”

“I like these a lot more than the electro harmonix they replaced. Nothing wrong with the electro harmonix at all, they are very accurate and precise. But these have that plus some warmth and extra musicality in the sound. Strings are stringier and vocals shine. Theres more "there" there with these. Soundstage is wider and deeper as well. Its subtle but its there. Everything Kevin says in the video is totally spot on. They improved the sound of my amp”

“Compared to my Quad of EL34 that lasted three years great job testing them, it Lost a little mid range bloom, but the bass goes deeper & the tremble doesn’t scream at you. It reminds me of listening to my fathers Amp years ago. Very happy with my purchase, Up Scale audio is the only place to buy tubes. Thank you!”
