“Completely floored in the difference these made in my Rogue Audio Sphinx. I've had the amp for several years and really was never totally happy with it. “Extremely impressed the first time I powered up my new Rogue Audio RP-1, replacing the factory installed tubes with these beauties. Solid bass and extended highs that are bright and detailed but not shrill. The midrange seems perfect. This Gold Lion/RP-1 combo also projects a wide and deep soundstage. It pairs extremely well with my new PS Audio solid state amp. I did try the phono stage, however, I still prefer my Pro-Ject Tube Box S2 (with a pair of ECC83 1959 Bugle Boys) connected to one of the inputs. A great combination indeed. Playing the reissue of "Music for Bang, Baaroom and Harp" by Analogue Productions (this disc is a must have for serious vinyl collectors) was simply eye opening. Highly recommended!!”

“I've bought a number of different tubes from Upscale and 3 different Kevin's stash tubes that I was hoping would be dead silent but there was some hiss on the right channel.. and I have cleaned the pins and still have a small amount of hiss.. I have found that the platinum version has less hiss in my amplifier.. this is still a great tube....”

“I started with a pair of GL 12AU7s and compared it to the GE Jan 6189W I got earlier for my Primaluna HP, both tubes being the same price. After more than 100 hours i find that Gold Lion has mode definition, detail and bass that the GE, and it better suits my taste. I still prefer the Brimar 4003 as leading pair but the GL is the best second choice for me.”
