“I have traditionally used Audio Technica MM cartridges for decades. The few times I tried any other brand I was disappointed. That has all changed now, thanks to Richard. I was initially looking to upgrade my existing Pro-ject Tube Box S phono preamp to get a bit more bottom and to soften the upper end. Then Richard suggested that I first start with the source and try the Hana S series MC high output cartridge (Shibata stylus). I didn't realize that there were high output MC phono cartridges (I've been away from the market for a while). Wow, I was surprised how that made such a noticeable difference with the bottom and the upper end that was more to my liking. I'm so grateful for Richard's keen advice, as I'm very happy with the Hana cartridge!!!”

“A great sounding cartridge, and an improvement in virtually every aspect from the Sumiko Blue Point Special I had been using. Better detail, bass fullness and tautness, and depth. A word about output though. I believe it’s 2.0 mv, and while that is sufficient for my Audible Illusions 3a’s MM phono section to listen at realistic (“in the room”) volumes, it might not be sufficient for any headbangers out there. I regularly listen to it with the volume cranked to around 3 o’clock.”

“My first MC cartridge, and everything everybody ever said about them is gospel. Having just picked out my forever turntable (pro-ject X-8), I thought I knew what to expect from this pairing. In short, I want to cry when I play a record. Every day. I get it now. To say that I am impressed would be a grave understatement. It threatens to undermine my marriage! “I purchased a Hana SL LOMC and the Flickert set up jig over the last few weeks. Installed and did a complete reset up on my SOTA Star Sapphire vacuum table and FR-64S arm. The set up jig is the best set up tool I have ever used, and I am very impressed with the outcome. Still in the break in stage, but love the results with our Decware / Omega system. “This Hana S outperformed the old design cartridge I have had for more than 7 years. The classical LPs had more depth and specific instrument location than I had heard with my original stylus. The Dean Martin record has never sounded better. The Hana S Series MC is worth more than every penny I infested!”
