“The Lumin D2 is the first music streamer that I’ve owned, so it’s hard to say how good or not it is. It is plugged into my Datasat processor. At first I used the analog outs, which meant I was using the DAC’s of the D2, and I used Audioquest Earth interconnects, which I thought were good but not great. The sound was pleasant. Then I used the digital out of the D2, with an old Kimber Illuminations D6 cable I had, which meant that I was by/passing the Lumin’s DAC’s and using the DAC’s of my Datasat processor. The sound was noticeably better, because of the Datasat’s DAC’s and/or because of the Kimber Illuminations digital cable... I think it was both but more so the Datasat’s DAC’s. I probably should have gotten the Lumin Mini which has only digital outs because I was planning on using the Datasat’s DAC’s but wanted to try the Lumin’s DAC’s. I also thought there might be something else about the D2 which made it better than the Mini other than it having DAC’s...I now think that’s probably not the case. As I’ve traded-up in the digital cable to the Audioquest “Wild”, the sound has greatly improved The primary reason I think the Lumin D2 is good is there are many other reviews that say it is, not because I’ve had a chance to compare it to any other music streamer.”

“Excellent player. The iPad app could use some improvement in terms of playing a sequential playlist. Wish computer app was not limited to just computers with new Apple chip”

“I purchased the Lumin D2 to see if I would enjoy listening to streaming music as much as I enjoy my turntable and CDP. The verdict? Why did I wait so long? I now spend much more time listening to all kinds of music, rather than just listening to my equipment. Thanks, Jeff”
