“I started streaming music around 2005 using a PC and various software applications. I migrated to an Apple Mac Mini and tried a few different software applications. Next up was Moon Mind, then the Sonore MicroRendu, then streaming directly from a Roon Nucleus via USB. I moved on to the Aurali Aries G2 using the AES/EBU port directly to my DAC. After watching some Upscale Audio videos and other reviews on the Lumin U2 Mini I decided to try it. I have found it to be by far the best of all of the music streamers I have experienced. I am experiencing blacker backgrounds, noticeably higher resolution and instrument separation, and I am hearing new details in tracks. I can recommend this streamer with no reservations. I did find adding the remote control (you must order this separately) to be a nice convenience in putting the streamer in standby or waking it up.”

“Very happy with the U2 Mini product and service received from Upscale Audio. I replaced a Bluesound Node while continuing to use the Mcintosh C2700 integrated DAC. Result is much improved SQ, expanded soundstage and clarity. My next HiFi purchased will be through Upscale Audio!”

“Does anyone (other than me and the other reviewers listed here) understand just how freak'n amazing this thing sounds!? The hardware and software seem flawless. It sounds amazing with Roon as well as the native app. The upsampling works very well in that it sounds even better when upsampling, say 44.1 CD quality (from Qobuz), to whatever sample rate works for your DAC. Wow. Wow. Wow. Buy one. Buy two...”

Hi Gene, Thanks for your review! We have some big Lumin fans on our staff, who use it in their home systems. It really is a wonderful sounding product, and many of us like the pacey presentation that's on the lean side but not too lean, just not overly plush. Let's not lie, the native app has a learning curve, but once you get it, it's actually very quick and easy to use.
