“Well balanced and conveys depth and scale as advertised. Transparent and tonally neutral, it does what a tube should--gets out of the way. Nothing "tubey" going on here-save for a touch more hiss that I expected...which could be other up-or-down-stream issues, but all in all, a better-than-average solution to the 6DJ8 dillemma-- pricey (NOS) vs dicey (cheapo current production Russian, Chinese, etc.) The "Japanese personality" is here, an elegant precision with artful dashes, better than average.”

“I had previously experimented and tried 3 different tubes for my Schiit Vali 2+ headphone amp (including both the EH-6922 and JJ E88CC/6922), and this tube is without a doubt better. It has a great balance of warmth, body, soundstage, tubey reverb/tone, detail, and airiness. While each tube I had tried before each had their own strongpoints, this is undoubtedly overall the best. I'd highly recommend it. My Schiit Vali (along with an amazing deal for the $990 Focal Clears) is an absolutely superb setup. I'm so enamored with the sound I'm getting and totally content for now. Eventually I'll upgrade my entire setup, but this is nectar to my ears.”
