“This particular tube is not a well-known substitute for 6DJ8 / 6922 applications, but it turns out to be a fantastic option. I typically rely on Upscale for my tubes: good advice, decent prices, graded tubes that are thoroughly tested. While researching more common 6922 varieties on the Upscale web page, I came across a listing for these, stating that these are often overlooked, but are a recommended sub for 6922 applications. Unfamiliar with PCC88, I still purchased a pair confident that info on the Upscale website is reliable. The tubes worked out great in my application: low noise, very musical, and testing "new" on my calibrated TV 7-D/U tube tester. Note; tubes bought on other sites such as EBay are a crapshoot - they may be at the end of their life, they may be noisy, or they may have significant emission variation between sections.”
