“Using these in the line section of a Audible Illusions Modulus ll, A nice clean detailed tube, in my opinion not lush like my Amperex 6992 gold pins or Mullards. Pick up a few can never have enough tubes !”

“These National PCC88s replaced the original tubes found in an Audio Research LS7 preamp I recently acquired. And while everyone seems to have an opinion about what’s “best” in the way of tubes, like just about everything else, I’d simply say that the Nationals sound like they’re working in their sweet spot. There don’t appear to be any weaknesses here. The operative word would be “balanced”. I’ve purchased quite a number of tubes from Kevin and have been pleased with all of them. His descriptions are accurate, and the service is excellent. If he and I could talk motorcycles, intoxicants, and other productive misadventures, I imagine we’d not go back to work for a long time. :-) Happy listening!”
