I never knew, in all my audio years, that tubes could make this kind of difference. I have purchased "NOS" tubes before but didn't hear this level of performance. My Aesthetix Calypso preamp was suddenly very dynamic, and the soundstage transparency and image palpability were better than heard in 15+ years listening to this pre. I confess that I used to think Kevin D came on too much like a used car salesman, so I discounted things he said. I apologize times ten. I'm not worthy, Kevin. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

It has the warmth and three-dimentionality of a Mullard and has much better extension at the frequency extremes. It is also quite revealing of micro- dynamics. It has totally transformed my Schiit Vali 2 +. The best description I can think of is; with the stock tube it was like an Audioquest Dragonfly Black, with the National 7DJ8 it's like a CHORD MOJO. Well worth the $$. Right now I'm using Thinksound TS 03 in ear monitors, Thinksound On2 headphones, Grado SR80e, and Thieaudio Legacy 3 IEMs. I plan on getting a pair of Audeze LCD 2's for my Birthday in September - That should complete my journey. I've been a "Bottle-Head" since 1972 - my first real stereo system was based upon a Heathkit SA-2 integrated amp that my Uncle gave me that summer. Now that my music collection is all digitally sourced tubes are mandatory.

I replaced my telefunken with this pair of japanese tubes. I won’t be rolling tubes for a while as i am enjoying my music, just as i was enjoying my telefunken. I’m not saying they sound the same, but both are enjoyable.

These are a very nice replacement for the original tubes in my Woo Audio WA3 headphone amp.

I use a lot of highly regarded 6922 tubes in my Musical Paradise DAC, amperex, valvo, Gold Lion reissues, tungsram, etc. These Matsushitas stand up well against any of them. Well-balanced, good bass, neutral, defined and all around great sound.
