I'm raising my previous 4 star to 5 stars for the Mullard 12au7 re-issue(Kevin's Stash). When I listened to it before I had the stock PL 12ax7 in the 2 center front slots, but when I put my GL 12ax7's in the center slots the sound was fantastic, with a wide and deep soundstage, lot of good bass, and top end was great. I may get a pair of Mullard 12ax7's from Kevin to match the 12au7's, and see how that does.

Purchased these for my Rogue Audio Sphinx and are wonderful tubes, dead silent and very musical. Really happy with this tube in that integrated amplifier.

I've put about 120 hours on the Mullard new production 12au7 pair. They sound good, but sound a bit to bright for my taste. I also have a pair of Gold Lion 12au7's, and like those better than the Mullards. My favorite is the stock PL 12au7's, and I would have definitely bought those, but they are not in stock. I found a pair of Shuguang 12AU7-TG's, and ordered those to see if they can match the PL's, since from what I've read PL tubes are made by Shuguang. I had one of the PL 12au7's go bad after about 8 months of very heavy use.

Great open sound solved a shorted tube problem I had in my preamp. Thanks for the quick turnaround and no nonsense website. -Tom
