“This phonostage is phenomenal. Sound wise It is super quiet and very musical. Maybe slightly warm from neutral which is exactly what I wanted. The soundstage is huge and Imaging is precise. It handles dynamics very well too. I can’t imagine a better phonostage in the under 2k range. My analog rig has come to life now. I am currently running it with my apartment rig: Technics 1210 GAE with a Soundsmith Zephyr MIMC Star cartridge into a variety of amps that I switch out for fun, to a pair of KEF LS50 Metas that I switch out with Wharfdale Lintons. The bass shy KEFs are for late night listening with my paper thin walls. Man I need to move. My B&W 804s are collecting dust. Aside from the sound (and the fact that Pathos seem like such a cool company) the features are what sold me. This phonostage combines great flexibility AND ease of use on the fly. I love the range of resistance and gain. They work for my MM cartridges and my Soundsmith Zephyr MIMC Star ES (hooray it goes up to 470 and 1k!). The best part is adjustment on the fly to tweak the sound to my ears rather than just to recommended specs. And I can do that without opening the case up or messing with dip switches. The build quality is top notch. The video Kevin posted speaks to the quality well enough, but the video doesn’t quite do the finish justice. I went back and forth between black or silver. The silver looks great, but the black matches my system better so I went with that. When I opened the packaging I noticed that it isn’t just plain black. It is a beautiful matte black with a nice texture and lots of silvery metallic sparkle in the finish. Pathos knocked it out of the park with this one. Now I really want to check out their integrated amps. I may be a Pathos fanboy now.”
