“The Primaluna EVO-200 is much more than I'd imagine it would be. I love the minimalist design but it is anything but minimalist in build quality, parts quality and especially performance. I love that it has a Record Out feature as I still record. The head phone section is fantastic. I'm old school audio and I believe that there are some retro "golden age" equipment that if a particular piece of equipment were updated with new capacitors, resistors etc. it would give some the high end stuff made today a run for its money. I believe new high end audio still uses some old technology as if they invented it. It certainly doesn't justify some of the insane prices that they charge. Now stepping down off my soap box I must say the Primaluna products are what I imagined higher end technology would be when I got to this age (64 years). I've read a lot about PrimaLuna over the last 12 years but I wasn't ready to invest in any "new" audio equipment and certainly not at the price most companies were asking. I was happy with my vintage Accuphase C-240 preamplifier and Harman Kardon Citation 19 amplifier. I still think they sound great. But I wanted to give tubes a try after reading all of the positive reviews about PrimaLuna by major audio publications around the world. It took me many months to finally make a decision but I said what the heck. I'm not getting any younger and frankly I deserve it. So this Evo-200 (purchased here at Upscale Audio) along with The Linton Heritage 85th Anniversary speakers and the Yamaha CD-S2100 CD player (purchased elsewhere) are the first brand new equipment that I've bought in at least 30 years. I must they that the aforementioned system works beautifully together and the more I break it in the better it gets. In short (haha), you can't go wrong with the PrimaLuna EVO-200 Integrated Amplifier. I'm so excited to own this unit. I felt like a kid opening up an expected but wonderful gift at Christmas time. Thanks Kevin Deal for the excellent videos. These really made my decision for me.”
