This was my first major audio purchase in 15 years. I purchased the PL EVO 300 to replace my Classe Audio solid state separates, so I was a little hesitant going to an integrated from separates. I owned a tube preamp in the past but never a tube amp. I must say I am beyond thrilled. I have not heard this much bass, and a nice controlled deep bass out of my 18 year old B&W’s as I am hearing now. The sound is glorious, very open and airy and as I write this I only have about 60 hours on it thus far so I can’t imagine how it will sound once it breaks in. I am hearing details and depth from my B&W’s I never experienced before. I read all the reviews and watched the videos and knew it was well built, but when you get it out of the box you just don’t realize how well that actually translates to. This thing is so solid and you can feel the 70 pounds as you lift it from the 3 boxes it comes in. The automotive quality finish on the chassis is absolutely gorgeous, what you would expect on a Porsche. Every detail from the heavy glass and metal cage to the beautiful volume and selector dials to the remote, all just feel right. The staff at Upscale was great to work with, shipped it fast and was patient and helpful with all my questions.

Instant gratification, with plenty of tubetacular sound! Best amp, solid state or tube that I’ve ever owned. And I’ve been on this musical journey for 30+ years.

In truth, I think this is the best tube integrated amplifier in the market today. Despite the tube gets warm (normal for tube amp), it does not affect the sound quality, which is out of this world. It is solidly built. The weight of the remote control is where you'll initially notice that corners were not cut. The system itself weighs close to 70lbs. If you are somebody that is in the market that searching for nothing but the best-integrated amplifier, search no more. You should consider this product. I have done my research, I tired Luxman, Rotel, IOTA, etc. But there was nothing compared to this PL EVO 300. I am making this review simple. Unless I get a discount from Kevin, next time I'll get into details. (LOL) A big thank you to Ken. A great customer service agent and very respectfully. It's rare to find an employee like that these days. Thank you, Ken.

Bought this about 6 weeks back based on positive reviews and a curiosity to see what all the fuss about tubes was about ... no regrets.

My first purchase from Upscale Audio was a Primaluna Prologue premium integrated amp. I was so impressed with this amp compared to my Rogue Audio Sphinx that I immediately regretted my purchase. I wish I had been willing to let go of more money initially and purchased the Dialogue or Evo series amp. I just didn't want to make a real expensive mistake. But, once I started reading and watching the reviews on these amps and realized the added benefits, I just had to upgrade. I wanted more bandwidth and slam, the ability to switch to triode mode on the fly, and was intrigued by the AC offset technology. So, I bought the EVO 300 a couple of weeks later. I already had a buyer for the Prologue who had auditioned it when he bought my Klipsch Heresy speakers. I noticed more bass slam with this amp. In fact, I ended up switching interconnects from all copper to silver plated copper in order tone down the bass a little and gain a little detail at the same time. The copper interconnects from Signal Cable Co. had some much bass extension that James Taylor (Fire & Rain) punched you in the gut like an old rap song. I was still able to get plenty of punch using the silver plated copper interconnects, but I now had a nicer balance IMO. Of course this is all subjective and some readers don't even believe that cables change anything. I'll leave you all to fight that battle on the audiophile forums :) I do find that my system is now more sensitive to these changes. I attribute it to the EVO 300 amp and my Schiit Yggdrasil DAC. After all, the changes every component/cable imparts on our systems is what makes this hobby fun, and what also drives us mad! Current system: Primaluna EVO 300 integrated, Klipsch Forte III (distressed oak) on top of Aurelex sub dude HT platforms, Cambridge CXC transport, Schiit Yggdrasil DAC, power cables by Signal Cable Co., Signal Cable silver reference digital cable & interconnects, Mogami 3104 single bi-wire speaker cables by Take Five Audio.
