“Holy f***ing sh*t! I paired the EVO 400 Int Amp with the Primalune EVO 100 DAC, Focal Aria 926's, 2 REL S/812's, a Music Hall 9.3 turntable, a Manley Chinook special addition, and a slew of specialty cables and this has changed my life, seriously... The sound is bold and effortless and clear as a bell and perfect at the low end as thunder. I am listening to concert pianist named Holly Bowling play Grateful Dead tunes with ultimate perfection and at loud volume nothing is stained or harsh. I know that the system I am talking about costs A LOT of money but at age 60 with 45 years of audio experience and experimentation, I finally found heaven and will enjoy being here every day. Thank you Kevin (and to quote Mick Jagger "Thank you Jesus, Thank you Lord") - Because of this audio system, I will die a happy man! Whether it's steaming on Qobuz or spinning vinyl, everything is perfect. Oh my God.... To quote Charles Mingus "Mother, master, and stamper" (shop talk for 'That's a take' :).”

“I am relatively new to the whole Audio scene. After doing some research, I decided to base my system off of this baby. After I managed to lift it to it's sitting place, and turn it on, I admit that I am now a convert. I am scared for the future because I see many possibilities from here for my system. Wish me luck!”

“Its been about 4 or 5 months now since I got the EVO 400 Int. I paired it with the Manley Chinook. I had solid state before that. I am not giving this 5 stars...they need to make a 100+ watt Int Amp. It probably deserves 5 but not from me. I listen to Classic Rock and Metal from the 60s/70s/80s. It took a long time IMO to break in the EL34s and they just didnt have the Cymbal/bass I was used to (unitil about 4 months in) then it got good. I personally am going to roll to KT66s in the future just b/c I have to try something other than EL34s. Overall, I am pleased with it and am keeping it. TIP: I tend to put it on tri-ode for original 1st press true 60s records & even "some" 80s Thrash metal sounds better and more 3d in tri-ode then Ultra, but there are plenty of records where I only use it in Ultra. It really makes a 1985 copy of Fates Warning - "Spectre within" sound amazing & on the flip side a real plum label "Yes - Fragile or Close to the edge" Stones 1st press records & Doors & Beatles sound killer in Tri-ode mode. Personally, I think I need to get an HW-40 VPI and some Sopra 3s to go with it all at this point for true bliss! I have a VPI scout2 with a Soundsmith Carmen & B&W CM10 S2s at this time. I only do records and nothing else at this time with it (no DAC, no "new" records, no CDs). It does well with Priest and Rush as well in ultra. It does OK with Sabbath (not enough bass for Sabbath). I still struggle with cymbals on "some" records, but that could be my copies (tubes change things when your used to Solid State).”
