“WOW!!!! I'm not easly impressed but the Primaluna EVO 400 has totally blown my mind. Having seen Kevin Deals videos i took notice when he said that everyone should own at least one high end tube amp in their lives and he wasn't exaggerating. I traded my MA252 Mcintosh in on the EVO 400 afer listening to one at Upscales showroom playing thru some very impressive Tannoy speakers. Getting the EVO home and hooking it up to my vintage Klipsch Fortes i was shocked at how good the Fortes sounded with the Primaluna amp powering them and my HSU subwoofer. again - WOW!!! I was lusting after the Tannoys but soon realized that I like my Fortes even more thru this amp From start to finish everyone at Upscale was so friendly and helpful. Total audio enthusiasts! Kat hooked me up in one of the listening rooms and Kevin took a lot of time dialing me into the room to try Triode mode versus Ultra-linear mode and teach me about Primaluna build qualities. Randall followed up with me getting my trade in all setup with Kevin and the service department. After having these speakers in my family for over 40 years I had no idea how good they could really sound until my new EVO 400 started playing. My dad loved those speakers but he never got to hear how good they could sound with an amp as freaking amazing as this Primaluna. I now agree with Kevin - anyone interested in listening to a great sound system should certainly listen to a Primaluna. Kudos to Kevin and his excellent team. Now off to play some more tunes!!”

“By far the best amplifier I have ever owned. This product sounds as good as it looks and is a lifetime amp. Being able to quickly switch to triode mode is a great feature.”

“I have been listening to the Dialogue Premium integrated for over five years, and it has been a true joy. I recently wrote a review of it here on Upscale's website, where I referred to it as the "bedrock" of my system and my "forever" amp. In fact, I had no intention of ever replacing it, until recently I went with a friend to audition headphones. I have not listened to headphones in a VERY long time, and I was blown away by the sound quality of some of the new sets. Ultimately I decided to upgrade to the EVO 400 in order to take advantage of the headphone jack, but also because of the added flexibility of the line-level outputs. I also figured that the extra power of the EVO 400 would give me added flexibility in choosing loud speakers if/when I decide to replace my PSB Synchrony Twos in the future. Honestly, I was not expecting to get any sonic improvement over the Dialogue Premium, but I was pleasantly surprised by improved lower end bass and a more open sound stage. Overall, I am extremely happy with the EVO 400. I do have two small critiques: First, I prefer the older style remote control that came with the Dialogue Premium. The new remote is slimmer and feels cheaper. It is lighter weight and the buttons don't have the same tactile response. It also has a rather loud "rattle", as if something is loose inside. Second, I wish they would have designed the EVO 400 to allow the tube cage to fit when using KT150s. Otherwise, I absolutely love it! Thanks!”
