“I bought this EVO400 tube amp in Feb 2020, to get thru covid era. I liked it so much, i just bought another one this spring and am running them dual mono, via the EVO400 tube preamp....into a new pair of Wilson Audio SashaV speakers.....amazing beyond belief...rivals the showroom's setup with Audio Research Corporation 330M mono blocks and Wilson Audio AlexiaV speakers......that being said....last weekend i had a KT120 tube arch and cause my one tube amp to fail. I troubleshot a few areas before writing a detailed email to Steve at Harmonia (service center UpScale uses for PrimaLuna service) and WOW...he got back to me within 12 hours with possible solutions to the problem and the "how to" in the event I needed to prepare for shipment of my amp for service. I tried some of his trouble shooting (which was so obvious I didn't even consider it for what i assumed was a major equipment/component failure) and wahhhlahhhh.....it was only the two quick burn fuses that supports the auto bias....replaced them and i was back in business. SO, the PrimaLuna protection systems do work....sure, I lost a $140 tube, but tubes go bad and thats the cost of doing business and "rolling tubes" for the pleasure received from doing so....my point is: Prima Luna has worked perfectly for the past five years...and when I needed to "reach back" to Up Scale, they steered me in the right direction....and the sound advice I received solved my problem. The price points for all of Prima Luna gear is very competitive and the build quality is beyond reproach. I will never get rid of my Prima Luna system as it has provided many hours of entertainment and enjoyment....it will one day become my 2nd system as i move on to ARC and their huge monoblock system...but even then, the PrimaLuna system has earned the right, via it's performance to always be in a room where I can listen to it as i desire to...sure, they price just got bumped up a little, but have you seen the price of eggs? The value is way beyond the price point....punches WAY above it's weight class...thanks to Kevin Deal and all of Team Up Scale for help when i needed it....and to Steve over at Harmonia.”

“Primaluna Evo 400 Power Amp is amazing. It turns my system into a live natural sound that I can listen to three dimensional rich tube without harsh or wooly sound, it is just right in tonality, bass and treble. I keep the EL47 power tubes. The bass is deep and the high is airy. Listening to my analog turntable all genres is a delight: jazz, rock, classical, vocal. I use Primaluna Premium Prologue Preamp and I changed to Psvane 12AU7 Horizon tubes with significant result. I think the new Primaluna Evo 400 also uses Psavane tubes. This power amp is to keep.”

“After purchasing the Primaluna Evo 100 DAC a few years ago and the Primaluna Evo 400 preamp a year ago, I couldn't wait to purchase the Evo 400 monoblocks. This is the most amazing sound I've ever heard in my room. The sound is rich, full bodied, and tonally correct. I not only hear the air around the singers and instruments, I hear the air around the back up singers. The sound stage has height, width, and depth. My system doesn't sound like a sound system. It sounds like a musical instrument. Thank you Joel for your help.”

“i have had this evo 400 tube preamp and amp now for about 3 years or so; they were driving AK6 Klipschorns just perfectly...however, the Khorns got set aside for the time being. I recently moved up to Wilson Audio SashaV speakers with Shunyata SigmaX connection cables....all i can say, is the Prima Luna gear performs as well as the 30000$ Audio Research gear I am currently listening to and considering to purchase in the future....the Prima Luna is more bang for the buck than ANY thing i have heard....even the stereo shop that i took the gear into and listened to other speakers with could not believe, for the $$ i paid for it, i have that incredible sound....they almost are REFERENCE quality...and for me, right now, they are.”

“I’m still breaking it in, but after roughly 40 hours I am truly enjoying the sound. I bought 2 and I’m using them as monoblocks. So far very happy with the EL34 tubes, which I was not familiar with. Can’t say enough good things about the EVO 400s!”

“I bought the EVO 400 preamp and power amp and could not be more pleased. They have taken my system to the next level in a significant way. The music flows more effortlessly into the room and seemingly just "appears", while the speakers disappear. I am hearing things I haven't heard before, making all the music much more alive and real ... the clarity is remarkable. And, they are cool to look at.”

“Give a great tube amp a try; it amazed me, maybe you too will be amazed. Large speakers or small; it changed the character of my system in a positive way that is hard to describe. I will try; the sound, timbre and almost spooky sound that was eerily amazing. It was like I was alone, and watching a scary movie. It was that eye opening. I am again addicted to spending time listening to my system because of this amp.”

“I have used it for about 4 weeks, it's built very good. I have looked underneath of dozens of other amps and the build quality is amazing. I am having trouble pairing it with my Klipsch Forte IVs speakers which is my fault, a little bright even in Triode mode which does help a little. You can't go wrong buying this trouble free amp.”
