Great match with the EVO400 preamp. Brought out Dynamics in music I hadn’t heard with my mono block solid-state amps and surprisingly better bass.

The product the Prima Luna EVO 400 is really fabulous!! Value is absolutely great. I just got back into building a new system and had a BAT VK 60 se old stuff but a very good sounding tube amp. Now very shortly I will have to get another EVO 400 to do a dual mono sound. I am driving my new amp with an arc Reference 6 preamp. Using a PS audio direct stream DAC and the Direct Music Player the sound is awesome. The amp uses Svetlana wing C EL 34 tubes with all original driver preamp tubes. The factory front end tubes do a good job on shaping the sound. The Svetlana tubes add body. This is my current desire mixed with the ARC's 6h30p tubes. For the glorious sound and good price you can't go wrong here. Upscale did a great job shipping out very quickly. No hassles here. I highly recommend this place. From the North Texas Andy Young

Maybe for some potential buyers it may be of no thought to shell out $4,700.00 on a amp but for me it was a bit of a stretch! That being said I have no regrets as I now know this will be my last amp purchase for the rest of my life. I have had soooooooooooooo many power amps come and go in and out of my system (Cary Audio, Mark Levinson, Krell, Carver, Audio Research, McIntosh). Though most were excellent performers they never really took me there. This PrimaLuna EVO 400 Tube Poweramp seems to do most things right (excellent and extended bass, glorious mids without it being overtly euphonic and nicely extended highs going beyond the boundries of the speakers) resulting (atleast in my system) in a wonderful listening experience all while having only 38 watts per channel-this amp proves it's not all about WATTS! I wish I would have bought PrimaLuna long ago and I would have clocked more listening music listening hours rather than searching for the right amp! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I am very impressed with the sound after only 100 hours of use. I was a little concerned when I first started listening to the amp, as the sound was a little too bright for my taste. It didn't take long for the sound to improve dramatically with more playing time. I just upgraded my power cables to the VooDoo Infinity line and the sound made another significant improvement. I highly recommend this amp.

After over 40 years of audiophile interest I finally convinced myself to try vacuum tubes. I have owned many high end solid state products (McIntosh, Yamaha, Pioneer, Kenwood, and recently Anthem STR separates) over the years but never adventured to purchased a vacuum tube product. Now I only ask why it took me so long. I had heard others say that only with tubes is the music real and I never understood until now. I have the EVO 400 preamp and 2 EVO 400 power amps. I am a vinyl guy so my source is a EAT C sharp table with a J No 5 cartridge. The phono preamp is also from EAT, the E Glo S and it is powered with their LPS - Linear Power Supply. My speakers are Klipsch RF 7III's and 2 REL S/5 SHO's. In the beginning I had the speakers and the Anthem STR separates. I added the turntable, then the phono stage, the PrimaLuna preamp and finally each power amp. Its was a noticeable improvement in sound quality at each stage of the progression. My final step will be to one day add the Sopra II's from Focal. The PrimaLuna products are by far the best components I have ever owned. I look forward to many years of superb listening.
