If had one of these in my Conrad Johnson ET3SE Pre for 6 Months now. Like the gentleman before me I am very happy with it. I find it very musical with an impressive soundstage. I had to give it at least 60 hours break in before it settled down in my ET3SE. It has been smooth sailing ever since so don't be to harsh on it early. Looks like I am going to have to beg one or two out of Kevin for backup. I mean: If not this, then what?

Very quiet and musical tube, has the musical character of the stock EH6922 that came with my Conrad Johnson ET3SE just without the noise and distortion you get at times. The 6H23 produces rich premium sound and is by far a keeper for my tube hungry preamp!

I bought a platinum pair of these tubes to replace the stock input tubes in a brand new Schitt Valhalla 2 headphone amplifier. These tubes have more mids and treble than the stock tubes, which seem to have more bass. In reality, I've never put the stock tubes back in, because although they sounded good, these sounded better right away with my Sennheiser HD 650 headphones. I think these headphones react well to tubes that are a little brighter than the stock Valhalla 2 tubes. I'm extremely happy with the Valhalla 2 with these input tubes and the Sennheiser HD 650 headphones. I've been using these tubes for five months with no problems. I would buy these tubes again. I'm long past the wallet hit, but I'm still enjoying the sound every day.

I purchased the 6h23 from Upscale Audio to replace the stock Electro-Harmonix 6922's used in my Musical Concepts PAT 4 tube preamp. The phono section gain noise was too annoying for my liking. I read the reviews and determined this tube might work well in the first gain stage. I was not expecting such an improvement, the NOS Russian tube was very quiet and had a nice strong bass output with pretty good treble extension. The tube was better in every way than the EH 6922. I would have given the 6H23 4 stars until I bought a Telefunken 7DJ8. The 6H23 is still less noisy than the 7DJ8 but what the Telefunken tube does with image and tone put it on another level.

Recently I retubed my Audio Horizons 2.1 with the 6H23 Type 3. I have always loved the sound from my pre amp and now the new tubes have taken the 2.1 to new heights. The entire register from top to bottom is audibly better and the tubes have not been completely broken in. Thanks, Steve

The Monarchy DAC was delivered with Sovtek 6922. For fun I swapped in place TFKs and Tesla E88cc. The Tesla just sounded `antique', The TFKs were very good: equilibrated and natural, almost live. Then came the Russian rockets: that's live in all possible acceptions of the word. My system: active three way, JBL alnico large format horn+tweeter horn+theater double bass. Amps: single-stage single-ended C3m (compression drivers), single-ended single-stage F2a (Bass). You have something close to my system: buy the rockets!

Silence at last. This VK-3i never sounded as good as it does at the moment. No microfonics, nice attack, good details and extended top. Recommended.
