Follow up on my previous review. My rega p3 has been fabulous. I'm using a schiit mani phono pre amp replacing another brand and love the combo. I recently found a pair of vintage Polk audio 15t towers from 1985 and wow what a combo. Love upscale audio. Al,Kevin and Kat are the best.

The p3 exceeded my expectations. The sound has a deep front to back resolution, and the individual sounds seem to have an atmosphere around them. Like a good camera, the blacks are a little blacker, and the sense of space is much clearer. With a quality tone arm, It’s a great platform to upgrade, I can definitely justify upgrading the Elys 2 cartridge. I also got a Rega Fono mm, and that was a big improvement over my previous phono stage. Also, Upscale Audio is legit. I bought from them on a fluke, and it was a very fortunate choice on my end. I’m using the p3 as a reference turntable in a recording studio

The Rega Planar 3 has incredible detail and sounds incredible. I use an Ortofon Blue polished elliptical diamond stylus with my Rega P3 and it sounds pretty sweet. It is a huge upgrade from my Music Hall turntable with $20 Audio Techica conical stylus. The Music Hall with conical stylus sounded decent but I noticed distortion particularly when the music faded out or loud near the end of the side. The Music Hall turntable also made noise and the Rega P3 is ultra quiet. You just hear the record. The Rega Planar 3 with Ortofon Blue Stylus typically sounds crystal clear down to the last note you hear. It is more than just that. It takes the music experience completely to the next level with the pleasureful detail of the music with the strike of the drums, the strum of the guitars, shimmering sound of the cymbals, the pianos, the strings and the detail of the vocals. The Rega P3 is a well engineered turntable.

The Rega 3 is a terrific piece of equipment that lives up to its reputation, Upscale made the suggestion and I made the Selection...Thank you Upscale !" The downside......turntable balancing doughnut was not attached and the instruction sheet prepared by Upscale was challenging to understand (the print could have been retyped to look cleaner and up to the Upscale Audio level of expertise Customer service was excellent

Beautiful turntable, and worth it if you're looking in this price range. Richard was very helpful in working with me and setting up a conversation with Sean Paul in the analog department to help me put a great system together and convince me that for my needs this was a better choice than the Pro-Ject Debut Carbon Evo. The only fault I have with this model is that manually changing from 33 to 45 RPM requires removing the platter. Not a huge deal, but it would have been really nice to have a simple switch instead (though that can be added via the Rega neo PSU). They set it up perfectly and it sounds great!

In this price range, there's nothing better. Mine sports a Hana SL cart and I love it. Not only is it great, but it's very upgradable! Upgrade the power supply, sub platter and platter and you've got TT that punches WAY above is class. Highly recommended.
