I purchased this tube as a replacement for a Swart 6V6se. I can hear a noticeable difference after installation. There's a real creaminess to this tube when played clean. There's noticeable improvement in headroom and a stronger bottom end presence. I'm excited to see how the sound opens up even further after some more play time. Great purchase. I will inevitably be grabbing a set for my Nolatone in the near future.

I have two sets of speakers, one for rock and one for jazz/classical/critical listening. I had the rock sound figured out with the organ 12ax7 driver and mazda 6v6gt feeding the ADS speakers, but was still struggling with the critical listening midrange imaging on my Avalons with too much treble when the bass was right. I have some high quality Mazda 12AX7S in the driver location of my monoblocks and was using nice mazda 6v6GT output tubes. The Mazda output tubes were just too bright with the mazda 12ax7s, which aren't going anywhere. I like open airy sound with a lot of detail and imaging and the mazda 12ax7s deliver in spades. But for me it is a fine line between high resolution bliss and listening fatigue, especially when the Avalon mixing monitors can take you right to the edge. I knew I was close, and when I read your description of this tube I had to try it. It did exactly as you said and complimented my system perfectly. Now I use the organ 12AX7 with the Mazda 6v6 tubes and my ADS L470 speakers for that full bodied rock sound, but the mazda 12AX7S with the Pope 6v6gt for my Avalon Mixing Monitors and critical listening. Your descriptions really are accurate, easy to understand and allow me to buy with confidence. I already bought my backup matched pair.

I have the new model Fender Deluxe Reverb 68 Reissue. These tubes sound great in it. Very quiet, articulate and smooth sounding.

I would agree with the positive comments on this tube and would only add that they need some time to open up and really get life. I love the way each note gets its own space and air with this tube. Very smooth presentation and the notes have great depth. I can't say if they would be the very best in your system but they are certainly in that top group of NOS gems and should be auditioned.

These replaced 2 Sylvania's GTY. I am not totally convinced they are better than the RCA's. I am using these in a headphone amp so they do need to be good.Did seem to take longer to burn-in. For the price though you cannot find a much better set. Upscale are right they do sound good.. I am pleased and will recommend.

Midrange sounds fantasic with great detail. Voices are natural, out front, clear with good volume. Instruments where they should be. The highs have bit but never harsh. Base is tight. Very musical, balanced and easy to listen too with great hang time on notes. Paired with the 6H30 elsewhere here with my BAT 3iX preamp is one serious upgrade.

I recently got a pair for my 1966 Princeton Reverb I'd recently acquired. It came from an estate and the 6V6GT's in it were in bad shape. I'm a big fan of old RCA Black plates, and picked some used ones off of EBay. These sounded fantastic, but I was looking for something different and had used Visseauxs in the past, and thought I'd see if any were still available. That is when I came across Upscale and some Visseaux sticker shock, as it had been 10 years or more since I had bought any. Then I read about these Popes, and thought for the price I couldn't go wrong and give them a run. I play an old Strat, clean, no effects, straight in. I biased these up to right at 7 watts at 435 volts DC plate voltage, and plugged in. The first thing I noticed was they seemed much louder than the RCA's, and no doubt TIGHT, TIGHT, TIGHT. The note separation and definition were incredible. The chime and harmonics were beyond the RCA's, and more than I remember of the Visseauxs. I started about 3 on the PR volume and was loving it. I turned up to 5 (which I sure the neighbors down the street heard) and it was still holding its own with just a touch of sweet overdrive. More than enough to stay up with a ham fisted drummer! The final word, to my ears, this is the best 6V6GT I've played through. I'm for sure going to get another set so I'm not regretting it 10 years from now.
