“Fairly straight forward to obtain correct cartridge alignment. I would add a redundant check to the procedure. Set the overhang Set cartrige offset. Recheck/adjust overhang. Recheck the offset if the overhang required additional adjustment. Verify settings with inside aligment marks.”

“I purchased this protractor to do the set up of my Hana SL (low output) cartridge that I also purchased from Upscale Audio since I was certain that technology had improved since the older alignment gear I had from the 90's. The instructions and ease of use made this a much easier and much more accurate set up than any other time in my history of audio. After the first go around I put on some test discs to check the channel balance, anti-skating etc and then moved on to some music. FLAWLESS. The following weekend I double-checked the complete set up and everything was still spot on. I didn't even feel the need to get out the Oscope and go through that process (maybe when I have a few days off work I will). This protractor and the Hana SL exceed every cartridge I have used on my turntable (SOTA Star Sapphire Vacuum, FR-64S) and the last Dynavector was 3X the $$ of the Hana. Thank you Upscale Audio, I'll be back.”

“I've now used the protractor for both my Dr. Feickert Volare with an Origins tonearm and DS Audio 002 cartridge and VPI Prime Signature with a JMW-3D tonearm with a Hana Unami cartridge. The alignment tool and process is far superior than that provided by the manufacturers tools. The protractor materially helped to lift the tonal ceiling, balance and seperation to both set-ups. Only improvement would be a reflective grid to better align the stylus and cartridge.”
