I am extremely happy with this Telefunken 6922, platinum graded tube which I purchased in December '14. Talk about neautral and dead nuts quiet, this thing is incredibly revealing. I am using this tube in my Peachtree NovaPre Preamplifier, in conjunction with my Peachtree 220 amp and Paradigm Studio 100 v.3 speakers...having a ball. I had read other reviews of the Peachtree products and the recommendation / inclusion of the warmer sounding Amperex 7308 tube, so I had thought I'd made a mistake, but I'm totally digging the Tele. Great imaging, blackest backgrounds, and everything is there -- tight and cohesive. Think I will pick up an Amperex 7308 for shits and giggles, but couldn't pass up this "Funken" deal! Thanks Upscale Audio!

I am not a tube roller by nature, but I wanted the most articulate tube sound possible in my Schitt Lyr headphone amp, and these Telefunkens seemed like a great opportunity to achieve that goal. They exceeded my high expectations, creating a sense of holographic space, and textured detail which transforms the listening experience into a thrilling performance. Don't miss out on this batch of 'Teles'. Only magic could do more to bring recorded music alive.

I purchased a matched quad of these for my tubes4hifi PH-16 phono preamp. I can't express enough how neutral and gorgeous they are! Not to mention the price! Worth every penny.

I went from a transistor receiver to a single ended triode amp and used this tube. The detail is amazing. I can't hear any tube coloration. I have not used any other signal tubes in my amp yet, so I can not compare it to others. I can only say that the sound coming out of my system is full spectrum and very detailed using this tube.

I have a pair of these tubes in a Lyr 2 amplifier feeding Beyerdynamic T1 cans. If you have this combo, I cannot recommend these tubes enough. They don't impede the raw bass beauty of the cans at all and they make any song with vocals much clearer. It makes the songs you listen to get into your head and almost reverberate, in a very pleasant way.

Typically, you would get reviews from guys who own pro-consumer audio for leisure listening. Well, I'm happy to be the first one to tell you that you should plug these Telefunken's anywhere a 6922 tube fits in your recoding studio. These tubes will upgrade your sound quality for recording vocals as well as increase the overall value of your microphone pre-amps. The company Avalon frowns upon using anything other than Electro Harmonix 6922's in these units. I have no idea why, because they are boring sounding tubes, reliable but boring. I plugged these Telefunken tubes in and I immediately got a vintage but contemporary sounding vocal. Great mid-range image presentation. And the best part is, you are recording the sound and printing it to disk permanently. I urge anyone to replace all your existing tubes to these.

I bought an Audio Research LS1, and was unhappy with the performance.I looked inside and so I had a Sovtek 6922 which had tons of bass but not much else going for it.it didn't take 5 minutes before the changes were readily apparent.the preamp opened up the highs were smoother the midrange was cleaner the base was better to find and the soundstage was much wider. I'm extraordinarily happy with this purchase.

After speaking with Kevin, I bought 5 of these for my Symphonic Line Erleuchtung tube pre-amp (one for CD input buffer, four for output stage). The relevant comparison is not to the stock Elektro-Harmonix 6922 tubes that come with the pre-amp - it absolutely smokes those - but to other tubes in its class. In my case, the other tubes are Mullard CV2492s, a really good tube in its own right. I've used the Mullards for almost two years and know their sound well. In comparison, the Telefunken are: more dynamic and produce a faster attack with cleaner leading edges; produce a bit more powerful bass impact; have a deeper and higher soundstage - the increased depth in particular is quite noticeable; provide greater detail, track transients deeper into the recording space and are more revealing; create more sharply defined images making it easier to follow individual players; have a more upfront presentation i.e. less mid-hall and closer to the stage; but are not as liquid or smooth in the midrange i.e. vocals. So there you have it. Kevin's rhapsodic descriptions of them - both online and on the phone with me- are pretty much justified. And now a note about Kevin. I've read on audiophile blogs that he can be abrupt and a little too direct for some folks. I found him to be focused on answering my questions, understanding what I was looking for, and explaining my choices once I (finally) got around to making what I was looking for clear enough for him to provide meaningful advice. My take? If you call him looking for ego strokes and exclamations confirming your genius in selecting your gear and in life generally, try someone else (or get your girlfriend drunk). If you want straight tube talk and recommendations, he's your guy.
