My initial impression is that these tubes produce a vivid and powerful 3D soundscape. Absolutely silent background. They easily best my matched pairs of Amperex 7308s and 6N1P-EVs in my Decware CSP+ preamp and Taboo III amp. Also superb in my Woo WA2 (no turn on thumping). The only downside (and it could be a biggy for some) is that a pair of these Telefunkens in the driver positions of a Decware CSP+ produced a rather large turn-on thump through the powered subwoofer connected to the CSP+ sub out, for several seconds, even with the volume control fully off. I am using a Philips 5R4GYS Rectifier. I imagine the same thumping would be true through the main speakers if the amp were turned on simultaneously (which I never do. I turn my Taboo III on about 20-30 seconds after the CSP+). This unfortunate turn-on thump does not occur with Russian 6N1P-EV or Amperex 7308 in the driver positions. I'm guessing that the SRPP circuit in the CSP+ requires a more robust 6922 tube. The Telefunkens work just fine in the input stage of the CSP+ and that's where the most improvement is usually heard. If you can stand a few seconds of thumping, three of these Telefunkens in a CSP+ are really something special.

These tubes had a dead quiet background. Great tonal qualities filled out the sounds of the instruments and voices. The tubes still had great resolution and allowed the CD player to accurately reproduce the feel and liveliness of what I was listening to - one of the strengths of this CD player. The full and accurate sound revealed the feel or touch the musician was adding as he played the notes. These tube had a fuller, smoother, and rounder sound than the EAR tubes that were in the player. The player was used and 4 yrs old. Overall, I found the telefunkens to be an big improvement. These tubes did bring down the overall pitch, but this could be due to fuller sound. In this CD player, telefunkens are not bright sounding tubes, but they sound so good, who cares. If you like to hear the full timbre while preserving the musicalness along with great tone, these are excellent tubes.

From the time I opened the box and removed the tube I knew I was in for something special. The pins are a perfect gold, the logo printed on the glass harkens back to a time when Telefunken was king. I would buy these just to hold and touch them. In my preamp they are absolute perfection. Top end extended but sweet. Great bass. I buy my tubes from Upscale Audio because I know I am getting the real deal and the best quality. When I look at the label with the test results on each box I know that there is an attention to detail I could get nowhere else. Thanks Uncle Kevin!

I have a Decware CSP2 headphone/pre-amp and Sennheiser HD650 headphones ...I have used the stock Russian Voshod plant 6N1P (1981) input tube for two years. The 6N1P is a great tube, with super low noise, clear mid-range, and good balance overall, with some warmth....a real bargain, it stayed after trying some other more expensive 6922's. I recently bought the new Beyerdynamic T-90 headphones, which are wonderfully clear, and dynamic headphone....those new Tesla drivers are the real deal! I felt it was time to upgrade the input tube for my Decware CSP2. This Telefunken E88CC it worth it...Just about perfect in every way....The only question now is do I eventually get a matched pair to replace my current output tubes in the CSP2?? Best tube purchase I have made in my 6 years in this hobby...sincere thanks from me and my headphones

The telefunken 6922's are smokin' and rockin' in my preamp. Dead Quiet, musical, detailed, smooth and holographic. A pleasure to listen too and a very seductive set of tubes. Worth it! Big thumbs up! Thank you Kevin.

I have worked hard enough, and value music so much that I decided to get a pair of these for my preamp. They are very extended, but at the same time lack any kind of harshness. Taking them oiut of the perfect boxes was really something. I turn my preamp off when not in use. Figuring that a good 6922 should last between 5,000 and 10,000 hours, these will go for years. So I feel it was easily worth the investment I made. I have always gotten the best from Upscale Audio. For over ten years they have taken great care of me and I would not buy tubes anywhere else.

These are amazingly holographic, deep tubes. They do incredible things for your soundstage, sound is very neutral, not cold, not warm ... just right. Worth every penny, buy before they run out (but save one for me, I still need a match).
