What Uncle Kev is true. The most expensive tube does not mean it is better than a cheaper one. Of course Uncle Kev always sells the best and this tube works very well in my system. Have not got it broke in yet but for the price it cannot be beat. I would not worry about it being a reissue as we all know Uncle Kev always sells the best. Absolutely no complaints here at all. It is a great tube!

The Tung Sol's are my favorite of the new tubes being made today. The 12AX7's from Tung Sol are far better tubes than those made in China. They are very neutral with great bass, and a bargain for the price. Comparing them to my NOS collection, i would say they sound more like an Amperex tube than a Mullard. I have NOS Bugle Boys, Mullards, and Radiotecniques. The new production Tung Sols i purchased did not dissapoint when comparing them. IMHO there are really only 2 choices if your not going to purchase NOS, Tung Sol or Mullards. The Tung Sols have great bass, good mid, and great top end. Very clean sound. The Mullards have good bass, great midrange, and great top end. The Mullards have more "warmth", and the Tung Sols are more "dynamic" and "punchy. Both are great tubes. If you listen to alot of rock like me, you will prefer the Tung Sols. Alot of Piano or female vocals, i would suggest the Mullards. Either way you cant go wrong especially with the great service and attention you get from Kevin and the great people at Upscale Audio.

the tube itself is wonderful and produces very very good quality sound. while you can buy very very expensive tubes at five times the price which in all honestly are a bit more wonderful it is not night and day.my wealthy lawyer buddy bought tubes for the same unit i have from a legendary tube god whose name i will not mention for 8 times what i paid and altho they are a tad better i feel in my income and budjet range i did fine. my system had old worn tubes that did not sound good anymore and once these were inserted it came to life again . i would strongly give these a five star rating and upscale is really the only place to buy. if you dont have a tube tester you cant take a chance elsewhere these guys have never ever let me down. sincerely father bob life church

This tube is used in my DIY phono stage for the first time. Great 3-D imaging and extended highs. Wonderful size and body to piano and harp which hold their own better against orchestra in concertos. Especially recommended for classical lovers for these qualities but great all around very musical sound.

I'm new at tubes and recently purchased my first stereo tube amp. The amp came with Shuguang tubes. The Tung-Sols are much clearer with more detail. It's not subtle either. I really like these tubes! I also put some of these in a tube phono preamp and the detail and soundstaging is incredible.

I purchased several different 12AX7''s both NOS and curent production and I am MOST impressed with this tube. Even though it has not fully broken in, it is clear this 12AX7 has midrange to die for, clear, open and more importantly, well positioned. Each hour I play it brings additional bottom end and highs, without either overtaking the lucious mids. For my system, an 845 integrated amp, these are the bomb!
