I have rolled KT 150’s, KT 120’s, KT 88’s, KT 77’s, and EL 34’s from different manufacturers. I like them all as they all have different sonic signatures, strengths and weaknesses. I love the beautiful midrange of the best EL34’s, the clarity of the KT 88’s, and the power of the KT 120’s. The KT 150’s combine a major portion of all the other tubes strengths and add detail, dynamics, and powerful bass while still being delicate and nimble when the music calls for it. The KT 150 is the best overall tube I have ever heard. In spite of their tremendous power, they still sound “tube like”. They do not sound like sold state as others have suggested. They are a bit pricey but they’re projected to last a long time and they combine the best sonic characteristics of all the other tubes but without a single sonic weakness. Highly recommended!

Tubes arrived in perfect condition & after a short time of a few minor, low level crackles, settled in & sound great. They probably will sound even better after some break in hours. Overall excellent experience!

This is my second set of KT-150 tubes for my pair of Prima Luna EVO 400 amplifiers. Having large towers that contain two 12-inch woofers, I run them as mono-blocks. The originals I had ran trouble free 6-8 hours a day for 3 years and never gave me a lick of trouble. So, despite the cost, it was a no-brainer to re-tube them with another set. In the 400’s I tried to reduce costs with the much cheaper EL-34 as well as KT-88 tube from the likes of Electro Harmonics, Psvane, JJ, and Mullard. This tube is the one whose sound I could not live without. It gives the 400’s the upper frequency clarity and low-end snap I crave. Be advised, this is not an old-school sweet-sounding tube from the heyday of tube audio. I suggest sticking with a Gold Lion or Mullard EL-34 reissue or for that kind of sound. This tube will still give you a lot of what they can do, but I feel you do lose some of that uncanny, up-close, and personal presentation on vocals an EL-34 delivers. These seem to be designed to allow your amp to deliver accuracy, wide dynamic swings, and extended frequency response. The tightness, and bass slam of my EVO-400's rivals any SS amp I ever owned. Amplifiers, that cost more than double the PL’s retail price. If you listen to a lot of orchestral pieces that have the haunting voice of a soprano contrasted with the thunderous rumble of a 20Hrz organ pedal note. I feel the KT-150 allows your amplifiers to handle that sort of music the best. They allow my PL’s to achieve a level of performance where I feel there is nothing missing. I hear every musical nuance and note. Plus, I gained bullet proof reliability to boot.

These went into a Primaluna HP amp. While the EL34s were no slouch, in my system, the KT150s were a nice improvement. Most noticeable is the effortless drive, fuller sound and the Top End is cleaner. I'm sure I'll roll the EL34s back in at some point for the nostalgic nuances they offer. It's pretty cool that the PL amps allow so many tube rolling options to fine-tune your system.
