I purchased these for my EVO-400 Integrated purely out of curiosity. I was already enjoying my amp as it was with the EL34's and did not feel like I was really lacking anything with the sound. When I first installed the 150's the sound was more linear with a crisper sound, more dynamic and a bit more clear. The bass was tighter but did not seem as full and the music had lost some of its bounce and roundness. I was also surprised that I had to use a higher setting on the volume adjustment to have the same perceived loudness as with the previous EL-34's. These were the initial results within the first 75 hours or so. The tubes after about 75 to 125 hours improved dramatically. They opened up and the soundstage increased ten fold. The bounce that was missing returned and was actually better than before. The depth and information I am hearing now is nothing short of spectacular. I listen at just about 1/4 to 1/3 volume and the music is full and beautiful. My musical taste covers a great variety of genres. I decided to pull out something from my youth and turn the volume up to about 2/3's which is way past my normal levels at my age (57) gotta protect the hearing I have left. I played Rush La Villa Strangiato and was "shocked" at the absolute impact of the sound I was hearing. I was actually laughing. The wonderful thing also was that it didn't sound loud in the your going to ruin my hearing forever kind of way and it was definitely very loud. It was just clear and beautiful. Understand I bought this album new when it came out so I have heard it through every system I have owned, too many to count, but I felt like I was listening to it the way it was actually supposed to sound for the first time. Funny how we don't know we are missing something until we hear it. These definitely took some hours to break in though. I was missing the sound I had before and I almost pulled them after a few weeks. I am glad I was patient and left them in. I have everything I liked with the EL-34'S now but with way better detail, bass, 3D, soundstage and realism. The additional information I hear in every recording now is absolutely fantastic. My ears my room my equipment.
