“I bought these to compare with the KT88 tubes. Then 6550 highs seem extended and the bass was a little lacking compared to my KT88's.”

“It is working good. It needs more break in time. This power supply tube is better than the previous, Tung-Sol from the Tube Store. The previous owner,bought for the ARC Ref.5 se preamp.”

“For what it is, very good ! My amp can run either 6550 or EL34. This tube has very smooth highs, and powerful bass. The midrange became more recessed than running EL34. Especially when I switched to a tube preamplifier rather than running direct from DAC. Every piece of equipment including cables and power cords make a difference. Your mileage may vary, but this is a VERY SOLID tube with a dynamic sound and iron fisted bass.”

“Great output tubes, they were easy to bis w/o fear of them overbiasing them in my amps. My amps are hard on tubes but these last longer than any others I have tried except NOS GE6550As - at $125-200 per tube.”
