“This Vegepod proudly sits on our windowsill in the kitchen. It is the perfect place where we can just snip or pick a few of our herbs for our recipes. It is very easy to monitor the water as the guage tells us when we need to fill it. We love it!”
“Don't buy it!
I grow vegetables successfully in my 1 acre garden, and looked forward to growing herbs in my new kitchen pod. Before purchasing one of these (not cheap at $349, for what is just a plastic container with lights), be aware that the instructions recommend leaving the lights on for 16 hours a day. Also, the light is very bright, and it's not a soft light, but a very penetrating white light. Secondly, ALL my herbs bolted (sent up more stalk than leaf ready to go to seed). I thought I might be doing something wrong, so I emptied the pod, put new recommended mix, and started again. The plants bolted again. And also, there's no way that you could grow all those vegetables in one unit as pictured in the promotional material.
My recommendation? If you want herbs or small vegies in your kitchen, purchase a nice pot or longer planter, and do it yourself. A sunny window or a place in the kitchen that receives light will be enough to produce lovely plants. Don't waste your money on one of these expensive pods.”
