“Love the rack. Quality product, easy to assemble and looks cool. Always receive positive comments/questions about the rack when pulling up to a trail head. The tilting makes mounting easy; the straps hold the bike in place well and the spacing between the baskets (for the 5X) keeps the bikes from contact. Only "downside" is that the rack is heavy - which is to be expected for what its purpose and the quality of the build.”

“This is a superbly crafted bike rack. No 'corners were cut'. All pieces appear to be the highest quality material and assembly. The packaging and delivery were equally impressive. This rack should last a lifetime. Also, I want to give a shout-out to Brendan Vick Customer Service who responded very promptly to questions I submitted through their on-line contact form. I have not installed the light bar at this time, but when I do perhaps I can give that review. Thanks to the Velocirax Team/ Greg Shaw.”

“Better than I ever imagined. The quality and functionality far exceeded my expectations. I get compliments everywhere I go. From the packaging it arrived in to the customer support this it a top notch company. My screen saver on my MacBook is this rack mounted on my wife’s 4Runner. “I haven’t been able to take it out for a maiden voyage yet, but it sure looks spiffy! Wall mounting kit works well. Bikes seem to be super stable and the anti-rattle hitch system will make for a much quieter ride and ensure more longevity out of our bikes.”

“I love my Velocirax. it carries our three mountain bikes and two road bikes securely without touching each other. It has been on several long trips already and performed as advertised. it is easy to put together. Just note it is heavy and takes two of us to remove and install the rack on our Sprinter.”

“Did a lot of research! This thing is great. If you are weak you will need help taking it on and off. We use ours on our sprinter motorhome and the lean future is perfect for when we pop out the back. It is solid we have and no issue. We also have the internal locks; awesome.”

“The rack is fantastic and the garage mounting kit is real value for this rack - makes bike storage extremely clean in your garage. I love the 5x to give that bit of room between bikes so as to not have to worry about rub. Of course the hydraulic system is amazing for loading and unloading bikes - it makes it a total dream. My only nag on the rack is the red cross bars are not as robust as they should be and will warp if you're not careful to torque bolts to the specs provided. I get that Velocirax has gone this route to keep costs and weight down on a pretty burly rack already. Total 4.5 stars out of 5 here even though the rating system only allows me to give 4. Would not hesitate to recommend this rack to others - it's a totally slick setup but probably best suited for general bike carrying and occasional shuttling vs. a hardcore shuttle rack.”

Hi there, we are happy to hear you have been enjoying your VelociRAX 5X! We also love having wiggle room with the 5X spacing. We provide torque specs in the assembly instructions (print and online) to avoid over-torquing. Our racks are designed to carry a full load of bikes on rough and unexpected terrain. Like any other item, the rack will work at its peak ability when built within torque specs. When the rack is built within specs, the anti-rattle system is tightened, and bikes are strapped in properly, you will only need to worry about your car while driving off-road. “This rack is the bomb! Fits everything but a fat bike (but you can get hoops for those as well). Can load my road bike, mountain bike and e-bike and away we go! With the heavy e-bikes, the dampers are fantastic at letting the load down gently for easy offloading. Bikes are secure and the optional integrated cable lock is a fantastic design to keep the $30,000 load secure from opportunistic thieves. Can go into a restaurant without having to worry about the bikes on the rack. Very solid build. This thing is HEAVY though and takes 2 of us to put on and off the vehicle. That makes it a bit less useful for a solo rider to just pop it on the vehicle and head out for a ride.”
