Couldn’t ask for anything more perfect. This rack is perfect for my 15 passenger van.

I purchased the Velocirax 7 for our family of 6. After lots of research it was the best way for us to haul 6 or 7 bikes of varying sizes and types: -27.5x4.5 fat tire -drop bar gravel bike. - flat bar hybrid - Kids have 24in, two 20in and a 16in bikes. I keep 1 fat basket installed specific to my fat bike. But all other bikes work on the standard baskets. Quick and easy to load. Worked great for a 3000 mile road trip on our Honda Odyssey minivan with 6 bikes. Got about 22-23mpg (was under 20 with a loaded roof rack). Works nice for garage storage as well. Downsides: - heavy to install on the van - Ocassionally scrapes due to our low van hitch - Fully loaded I have to rotate a few brake levers to prevent rubbing. Overall very happy with it.

Easy to load and unload bikes but hard to get back into position when fully loaded. Two things I didn’t think about prior to ordering are the front tire needs to be inflated - no flats Bikes hit each other during transport- pedals smash into frames/shocks *be careful I use pool noodles it looks silly but works. For the price of the rack I’m not crazy impressed.

Hi there, thank you for your feedback! We always look for ways to improve our products, so we appreciate new perspectives. We recommend loading bikes from largest to smallest, left to right, for the best fit for multiple bike sizes. Rubber bands are also included to lock the front and back brakes to minimize bike movement in transit. We would love to take a look at your load and see what can be done to minimize bike interactions on your rack. Shoot us an email at support@velocirax.com and we can see what can be done! We would also love to see your pool noodle contraption.

Couple of things to do to your rack when you get it. Volle straps, keep them on your bottom bar and then they are handy for strapping pedals down to keep them from damaging/rubbing. Second, cut up an old tire or use some heat shrink and wrap the back end of the baskets. Then when you lower the rack into the camping position, gravel etc won’t damage the paint. Last, and still working on this, if you use raised hitch extender, and cut a little metal from the bumper, you can raise the rack, and move it back on a Sprinter. With a spacer installed on the bottom Velocirax bar that holds the tires…moving the bottom bar back 1.25 inches means you can open the sprinter doors with the rack in the lowered/load position…this gets ride of a ton of friction in a Sprinter owners life. Hopefully this can turn into a factory option from Velocirax.

It’s an amazing rack. They really don’t market it hard enough- because the product speaks for itself. It’s the most solid rack out there, after some research and engineering reviews of the other ones out there. The quote horizontal members will be stiffer than any of the angle iron horizontals out there. We carry 3 eMTBs, a cruiser and a couple more MTB’s on the back of our 31ft RV. I can also use on my Tundra or Sequoia. At the house, we store our MTBs on it. With the wider bars on the new MTBs, mounting is a little tight, so I put our narrow bar bikes between. Works great, and we have up to 3” wide tires !
