“Worked perfectly with my rack, all I had to do was remove one of the bike racks and I could have ski and bike storage for my girlfriend and I during winter in California.”
“We loved our SkiRAX this winter. It is relatively quick and easy to swap out the bike baskets to the ski rack attachment. Loved just being able to quickly load all the snowboards and skis for the family and not worry about fitting them in the van or a wet mess in the back of the vehicle! “These are really great if you’ve already got the bike rack. Pretty easy to install and switch out seasonally. Well thought out for the most part. Here are a few things to think about that I had to learn as part of living with these… First, you’ll need to switch up your storage system for the rack if you’re like me and using VRax’s wall storage rail. I’ve got the 6 place VRax and installing three of the ski Rax removed my ability to mount the rack to the wall. Second, there’s no real good way to lock the skis/snowboard to the rack. This wasn’t a huge issue for me as I didn’t store my stuff on the rack for too long. But something to think about if you are considering this. Bottom line is these are well built and sturdy. I’d expect them to last a long time and we will continue to use them.”
“Excellent ski rack (telemark and kids alpine). No issues with the ski rack function. But if you try to rinse off the rack after a ton or road salt - just be mindful that the rack can freeze preventing it from lowering. Happened once. Otherwise I really like it. Not sure how to replace a strap when it breaks but I assume that’s possible.”
“Like the Bike rack, skis and boards are secured with rubber straps. I can tell those straps are incurring weather damage but we were sent plenty of extras to get us through a few years. All gear is solid in transport. I have had several questions wondering if the vehicle's exhaust would have any effect on our equipment. Not that I can tell. “I bought them because I had about a 12 hour drive I had to do to Colorado and they worked so well. We were able to haul 4 boards and a pair of skis halfway across the country and back with ease. They were very solid attachments and held everything on very well, as well as easy to install. I would definitely recommend this product to anybody who think they might want it.”
