“I love chalkboard products! They're just exciting to me and don't try and make me explain. This contact paper is a nice quality product that's easy to use and works great! You use it the same way you would any other contact paper, but this one you can use chalk (or chalk markers) to doodle on it! It's a nice quality and doesn't easily rip while using. You get 8 feet total to use so there's plenty that can be done with a single roll. It also comes with a single liquid chalk marker (in white) that works great on the contact paper. I am rather pleased with the quality and durability - especially after using cheaper versions in the past. I would definitely recommend!”
“They give you a lot in this roll. The chalk marker is liquid chalk. It takes a minute to get the liquid up into the pen to write, but then everything is fine. The chalkboard sticks well. The material itself wasn't what I expected. It's a textured black vinyl and doesn't feel smooth like a chalkboard. It looks and feels like vinyl.
Despite saying you can make labels, don't expect to make cool shapes with you punches ladies, because they won't cut through the vinyl. It's not super thick, just thick enough to stop a punch. If you persevere and push hard, you can punch through, but the edges are shredded. I think a circle cutter might work, the kind with the blade that goes around, so I'll try that and report back later. Scissors work fine though, and the backing sheet has ruled guides so you can easily fit straight lines.
I used the liquid chalk marker that comes with it inside the tube. It takes around 50 pushes to get the tip flowing with ink, but it does work. You can't wipe the marker off without using water, unlike regular chalk. I don't mind, I prefer it actually, so labels aren't wiped off accidentally. TIP: If you want your labels to look more like an authentic chalkboard, write on them and then smear the ink without wiping it completely off. That gives you an erased looking background, which looks more farmy/rustic in my opinion.
You get a huge amount of product for a reasonable price compared to buying a small package of pre-cut labels, and it's so versatile for many projects. Overall, very pleased and will make great use of it.”
“I was so excited to get this in the mail! I have recently started doing crafts and I have been using chalkboard paint and I am learning how difficult it is. Now that I have this chalkboard contact paper I don't have to worry about the mess and hassle of the paint. This is easy to use with my Silhouette machine to cut whatever design I need.
