Does FLORASSIST® Oral Hygiene need to be stored in fridge?This product does not require refrigeration since it is stable in the bottle packaging at room temperature. However, customers can refrigerate the product if desired.
Do I better take Oral Hygiene in the morning (after brushing my teeth) or before going to bed?Life Extension formulates its product dosing and instructions based on scientific literature. We suggest following the instructions on the product label; this product can be taken any time of day based on your preference, preferably after brushing your teeth. Does the strain of bacteria in the product already exist in our saliva. If not, what activity will it have against those existing bacteria?Yes, the S. salivarius M18 strain has been shown to colonize naturally in the oral cavity and promote dental health by modulating inflammatory cytokines, IL-6 and IL-8, as well as optimizing oral pH.Does the Oral Hygiene need to be taken indefinitely? What happens after I stop taking it, does the imbalance come back?We would suggest this product be used on a long-term consistent basis for optimal results but can be used as needed based on health needs. While this product provides beneficial probiotics to support oral health, please keep in mind, if stopped, it is essential to maintain optimal oral hygiene to encourage the continued proliferation of beneficial bacteria and to modulate levels of unwanted bacteria in the oral cavity. Is Milk an ingredient in the lozenges or is it a medium in which the probiotics grow?The probiotic is grown in a culture medium that includes skim milk. The amount of milk in the finished product is not measurable. Does the microcrystalline cellulose come from a vegetable source or wood pulp?The microcrystalline cellulose used in this product is derived from wood fiber/pulp.Are the oral probiotic lozenges safe for children? Also, do they contain any genetically modified ingredients?We cannot make any suggestions for individuals under the age of 18. We suggest speaking with the child's pediatrician. This product contains ingredients derived from a GMO-crop. Typically, these ingredients are so highly purified that the amount of actual GMO-material, if any, would be negligible.Is Oral Hygiene gluten free?This product does not contain any gluten.Can these be dissolved in a little water for someone who can eat, drink & swallow, but who won't let a lozenge melt in his mouth?It can; however, we would not guarantee efficacy or potency of the product at that point. The beneficial bacteria in this formula support dental health by colonizing in the mouth and helping to restore oral immune function. These effects were seen in clinical studies when the bacterial strains were taken in lozenge form, as opposed to ingested.
Are the strains in the oral probiotic living or deactivated?The BLIS M-18 is a living strain and the Immuno-LP20 is deactivated.
