Pharma Nord Omega 7 capsules is a nutritional supplement prepared from the berries of the sea buckthorn plant, a shrub that originates from the Himalayas. The sea buckthorn oil is a rich source of Omega 7 fatty acids that include palmitoleic acid and vaccenic acid. Omega 7 contains vitamin A (as beta-carotene) that contributes to the maintenance of normal skin, mucous membranes and vision.
The oil extracted from sea buckthorn berries is a rich source of the essential polyunsaturated omega-7 fatty acids (PUFAs), palmitoleic acid and cis-vaccenic acid.
Relatively few plant species are good sources of these essential PUFAs. In addition to the omega-7 PUFAs, sea buckthorn oil is a good source of the PUFAs alpha-linolenic acid (omega-3 type), linoleic acid (omega-6 type), and oleic acid (omega-9 type), as well as containing high levels of antioxidants (tocopherols, tocotrienols, carotenoids plant sterols and vitamin C).

Directions: As a food supplement, two capsules of Omega 7 Sea Buckthorn to be taken twice a day with food and drink during the first two weeks, one capsule twice a day thereafter.
Do not exceed recommended amount. Omega 7 is generally well tolerated. Pregnant or lactating women and those on medication should consult a doctor before taking nutritional supplements.

What is Omega 7 good for?Omega 7 can help people who suffer from a dry mouth, dry eyes and intimate dryness. It helps to reduce fat cell accumulation so that our blood can continue to flow easily. "The fatty acids found in Omega 7 may also help to lower LDL cholesterol (sometimes referred to as "bad" cholesterol) and increase HDL cholesterol (sometimes referred to as "good" cholesterol). According to the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA), Omega 7 helps to reduce insulin resistance, lowers blood glucose and fights obesity.
The omega-7 shell contains carrageen, I heard/read that this is bad for you?There are 2 types of carrageen and omega-7 uses the type that is declared safe and makes an effective, vegan shell. The other type of carrageenan (poligeenan) is not approved for use and is not found in any of our products.
Can children take omega-7?The oil itself is perfectly suitable for children, as long as they're of an age where they can safely swallow the capsule. The capsule shell can be opened and the oil inside consumed to make this easier.
Does Omega-7 interact with Thyroxine?No, there is no existing evidence to suggest that they interact but please check with the doctor if unsure.
Can I continue to take 2 capsules, twice a day after the first two weeks?Yes. Many customers find they prefer this dose level and would like to maintain it, this poses no problem.
