A.Vogel Stinging Nettle Urtica Drops, formerly Urtica Tincture, contains flavonoids which have a diuretic action helping to alleviate nettle rash and other skin complaints.  Stinging Nettle, Urtica dioca, increases the excretion of chlorides, uric acid and other acid metabolites from the body. The same cleansing action is of value in chronic skin conditions, especially the itchy skin complaints, where it also appears to possess an anti-allergic action.  Menopausal women may also find Stinging Nettle to be helpful in reducing hot flushes and night sweats. Stinging Nettle is also nutritionally rich in many vitamins and minerals and is often considered to be an excellent blood tonic.  Stinging Nettle has been used traditionally as a therapeutic herb for a myriad of health complaints ranging from the more serious to improving the appearance and quality of hair.
Stinging Nettle, has a well-known reputation for its sting when the skin touches the hairs and bristles on the leaves and stems. The name Urtica comes from the Latin verb urere, meaning 'to burn’.  Interestingly when the fine hairs on the Urtica plant come into contact with a painful area of the body they can actually cause a decrease in the original pain!  Alfred Vogel was one who advocated this treatment to a number of his patients.
Today A.Vogel is kinder and the aerial parts of Urtica plants are carefully harvested and manufactured twice yearly into a tincture.
Benefits:
Made from freshly harvested Urtica dioica (stinging nettle) herb
Organically grown
Botanical food supplement

I have found this to be an excellent alternative to antihistamines. Apart from days of really high pollen count coinciding with windy days this is all I have used.
