Dear reader, I am sad to say that the villa didn’t live up to the expectations that were set based on the pictures and the price we paid for our stay. It all started with all of the glasses and dishwear being so dirty that they were unusable so we had to start our holiday by washing all items one-by-one. This was followed up by a general uncleanliness all around the house which we found weird, since it was our understanding that the house was cleaned prior to our arrival. The vacuum cleaner was broken, therefore we couldn’t even clean ourselves for the enirety of the stay which has caused some general discomfort. The jacuzzi was unusable, the tub wasn’t cleaned and the water probably hasn’t been changed in a long time since there were dirt pieces floating about. Due to this, we weren’t able to enjoy one of the aminities we were looking forward to. The AC system was faulty in some of the rooms, with us being unable to put the temperature down and adjust the fan settings. This meant that some guests had the fan blaring in their faces at maximum capacity that resulted in catching a cold which was the last thing we expected on vacation. One evening my friend found a piece of glass in her bed, of which I have attached a picture. Turns out that our suspiciouns of the house not being toroughly cleaned were right, since we later found the source of the glass on the balcony, where probably the previous guests have shattered something that the cleaning staff has failed to notice. The lamp in our room randomly fell down one night and we saw that the top was taped to the bottom along the wires, which is a safety concern in my opinion. On our last day, the owner told us we could check out whatever time we wanted the next day, since there were no guests coming after us. Taking into consideration all the things that went wrong in a Villa we paid 4900€ for, I asked if we could stay one more night. The owner said yes almost immedietaly and it was my understanding that we could stay one night for free, since we overpayed and had so many problems with the house. A few hours later I received a text message not from the owner, that we can’t stay in the end unless we pay. This would’ve been no problem if it was coming from the owner and was told upon asking the first time. We found this highly unprofessional and saddening since this would’ve been one if not the only redeeming qualities of our stay in the Villa. We stayed for 5 nights at the Villa and according to the owner, a nightly fee costs 650€. For 5 nights that would mean 3250€ in total. As I’ve already mentioned, we paid 4900€ for the 5 nights and I would love to know how the remaining 1650€ was spent, because it definitely wasn’t on cleaning or maintenance. The unprofessionalism was evident from the dirty house and dishes to the failing AC system and I can say that we will NOT be using Villa Wild Rose in the future. Would a partial refund be possible? However, I must clarify that we were not made aware of any issues during your stay, which made it difficult for us to address your concerns at the time. While I understand your frustrations regarding cleanliness and amenities, we take pride in maintaining high standards and would have appreciated the opportunity to resolve any issues if communicated. Regarding your request for a complimentary night, this was not part of our agreement, which may have led to misunderstandings. Please rest assured that you were charged according to our valid price list. The extra night you requested was offered at an off-season price, as your stay was during the transition from high to low season. This is easily verifiable on our price list. A later check-out was offered to you at no additional charge; however, we could not accommodate your request for a free night. I am sorry this led to your disappointment and subsequent review. We value all feedback as it helps us improve. I encourage you to reach out directly to discuss your experience further.
