“Fan blade installed in minutes. Working great. Previous fan blade was torn but was still usable with creative repair. New one was an exact match but very hard to acquire locally. I'm in a large city with several suppliers, however they would only sell to licensed technicians. This is understandable to a point as it can be dangerous if the unit is not properly and safely shut down for service. Nonetheless I never indicated what my intentions were for this part and the counter persons acted like I was constructing some type of weapon or helicopter. It's just a fan for goodness sake!

I hold an electrical engineering degree and work on very complex electronic systems. I am familiar with lockout safety procedures. I have also rebuilt a few homes from a dilapidated state for resale without issue and always passed inspection.”
