“Perfectly aggressive knurling without being too aggressive. Provides a very secure grip. Any more more aggressive and it would hurt/potentially tear at your calluses. Center passive knurling is a beautiful and thoughtful touch. I do not know of any other comparable bar which does this. Unique design of the sleeves provides a nice aesthetic change of pace. This bar just looks good and feels good.”

“I had a leading competitors power bar, but sold it when I got this Vulcan bar. I love the knurling...aggressive, but not overly sharp and with a lot of points per surface area, so it sticks to the paws well. The center knurl is mild, which to me, is the bar's #1 best feature. I got rid of my OHPB because the aggressive center knurl made front squatting a hazard to my health. Very stiff and looks beautiful. There is some controlled spin, so you could do power clean for an OHP in a pinch if no access to a rack. This is purely aesthetics, but it is a beautiful bar to look at.”

“Very stiff bar. Aggressive knurling. Like that the center knurl isn’t as aggressive as the rest. Ribbed sleeves seem pointless, tbh, but doesn’t distract from the quality of the bar. Matte finish comes off the sleeves with sliding cheap plates on and off. Bumpers scraped the matte finish as well, but that’s not personally a big deal to me. Performance of the bar compares to other popular 29mm power bars that I’ve used. Squatting and deadlifting feels great, but more importantly benching and OHP feel smooth. Proper rotation of the sleeves, 29mm vs 28mm whippy Olympic bar that I used to use is a huge difference. Besides the matte finish coming off of the sleeves, I’d recommend this bar to anyone who trains in powerlifting, or any training not involving Olympic movements for obvious reasons.”

“Fantastic bar. The knurling is aggressive enough in order to ensure a good grip but not too aggressive to wear it is tearing your hands apart. Great for all the big 3 lifts and accessories. Durable and rust free.”

“I was looking for a powerlifting barbell to use for the Starting Strength program and am very happy with the Absolute Power Bar. The bar is very stiff and has held up wonderfully thus far. The knurling is excellent and offers a secure and comfortable grip without tearing my hands up. The bar is also beautiful to look at; the grooved matte chrome sleeves contrast nicely with the black oxide shaft to make a bar that is as visually interesting as it is effective. I had seen pictures of other people receiving this bar with a special tube packaging and remarking that it was packaged very securely, so I was a little disappointed when mine was delivered in a long cardboard box with no packaging (i.e. packing peanuts, bubble-wrap, etc.), but this could be simple because I had a pallet of other equipment that it was included with. Regardless, I am still leaving a 5-star review as the bar arrived undamaged. Don’t be afraid to invest in this bar, it is excellent.”

Thanks for your review! Yes, when we ship the barbell on the pallet the box is better as it doesn't roll around like the tube.

“The bar looks great, the knurl is perfectly aggressive but not too much, and the softer center knurl is a nice touch. I'd highly recommend this bar to anyone looking to buy something new at a reasonable price.”
