“Plates are great as expected. Only negative thing i can comment on is the metal inserts on the plates are already rusted on the inside, not sure if this is normal or not for the metal inserts?”

There can be some black marks on the inside of the insert that are a by-product of the manufacturing process. The inserts are forged into the plate and the heat and pressure can cause some slight marking. It is a normal property of the product and not a warranty issue or defect. Pressed in inserts can have a very decorative appearance but they easily dislodge from the bumper plates. Alpha plates are made for dropping indoors and outdoors and as such, the durability of the insert is the key feature.
