“Alpha Bumper plates are super-low-bounce. They took a while to get delivered, but that's because they are in such high demand, it's hard for Vulcan to keep in stock. Also, I was going to be on vacation during the time of delivery and Vulcan customer support was great about keeping my delivery in the queue, and just setting the bumpers aside and delaying shipment to make sure that it arrived when I was able to receive it.”

“Alpha Bumper plates are a nice set. The speckled look is different and stands out, too. The delivery could be improved upon as it's largest competitor ships within a couple days...not 30+. If delivery was faster it would be 5 stars.”

Hi Nicholas, Thank you for the review. Sorry about the wait on the Alpha Bumper Plates. We are the only seller of this product and the demand is very high. We have similar 1-2 day shipment times for all other bumper plate options.

“Everything people write about the Alphas is true except for my situation the smell is a showstopper. The bumpers are quiet, well made, look good, and are good value for money (I purchased the 350lb set). My home gym is in a guest room (~18' x 12') in my apartment and despite keeping the room as well ventilated as I can (windows open, fans blowing, etc), after close to a month the smell is still overpowering and just not workable. Baking the plates a bit in the sun is reported to help on some forums but this isn't an option for me in the city. I know the Alphas are supposed to smell less than other bumpers, I can only imagine what others must smell like. I expect in a dedicated home gym in a garage or basement these plates would be perfect. If I could wait several more months maybe the smell would dissipate but for my particular setup I've decided to sell the Alphas. In an apartment I am not going to be dropping weights so instead of relying on bumpers for noise reduction, I'll likely pickup iron plates and just be careful about the noise. Vulcan the company gets 5 starts from me. Ordering was easy, great price, smooth transaction on all fronts.”
