“Quick Note: I ordered a set and left the same recco on each plate, but the 10's are special in this set. I didn't know if I would like the smaller diameter, but it is a really good idea. My younger son lifts with these on a technique bar, and they are noticeably thicker and more sturdy than a traditional 17.7 10lb plate. This is the way to go for 10's if you want bumper style vs change plates, no bumper taco worry at all. The Vulcan Alphas have been awesome. They are noticeably quieter than the virgin rubber bumpers I was previously using. The material feels a little softer than a traditional bumper... I bought a full set 10-55's, and they all were almost exactly the weight described. The bumpers were all more or less flawless, no chip or dings and every one of them sits tight and firm on my Rogue OPB. The steel sleeve is straight, and the bumpers hang cleanly on the storage rack as well. I bought these because my indoor area has ceiling too low for overhead lifts, so I do Olympic lifting outdoors. So far these live up to their durability promise. I have been dropping them on cement and asphalt and the look great. The right around the outside of the plate is a little shallower than other bumpers, so I was worried getting them off the flat floor would be challenging, but they come up fine. The inner ridge is nice and thick, making them really easy to handle, including the 55 which is massive and heavy. These are a little thicker than other bumpers I have used, but have presented any problems fitting on my Olympic bar or Kabuki trap. They also look awesome, some of the pics on the Vulcan website still show the V1 Alphas that had black letters and less of the colored flecks. These all have white lettering and the colored flecks on every plate look really awesome. They are more blob style flecks, vs smeared ones on the similar looking (but not as awesome) Rogue plates. They are also have much more noticeable and vibrant colors then the Again Faster crumb plates with color flecks. Lastly, little to no smell at all. I left them in the garage for one night after wiping with just a damp cloth and they had very little smell left when I moved them inside. Each plate had two tiny little stickers on them, which was kind of a pain to pick off, but that is about the only complaint I have. Great great bumpers, would absolutely recommend.”
