This bar is built like a tank.. it’s heavy (65Lb) so right now I have a hard time doing Bulgarian squats with 10lb bumper plates (85lbs) .. easy to load on its stand which makes deadlifts much easier and faster. ,love that it’s rackable and I can do camber squats with it. And at 5’7” I can do zerker squats while it’s on it’s stand easily. Love doing farmers walks, lunges, step ups, shoulder shrugs very versatile and it’s cheaper than kabuki which u can’t rack and cheaper than eleiko that only has one grip. This has a fat grip to work on grip strength. I just wish i could make the grips a little bit closer to my body then it would be perfect.

The OX bar is well built and is a nice blend of features taken from other, more expensive bars. One feature that caught me by surprise was that the handles are not actually parallel. When the bar is on its jacks, the whole handle bracket is angled up slightly. I don’t think this will detract from its function at all, but something to be aware of. Vulcan claims this intentional, but it really feels like a factory welding mistake. The knurling on the handles is medium but gets a bit inconsistent and rough on the edges. When the bar arrived, the handles were not fully screwed together and needed tightening. While the overall build quality is pretty good, the bar I received only seem to have been powder coated on one side. I reached out to Vulcan and they said they will be sending a “touch up” kit. Whatever that means. Unless this kit includes a can of spray paint, I don’t see how I’ll be able to recreate factory powder coating on half of this huge bar. We shall see. Also, the end caps are way too small and rattle around whenever the bar moves which is loud and annoying. Probably going to have to use electrical tape to pad the edges. All in all, it’s a good bar and functions as intended. Putting it together wasn’t hard, and the rubber jack feet function well. Just be prepared for annoying cosmetic issues that you will likely need to repair yourself.

When you look at the quality and cost compared to other options on the market, this is a really amazing bar. Pros: The construction and welding is high quality. It stands up and can get out of the way even in a small area. The sleeve length is also good. The design for standing the bar up to load the plates is wonderful. This is probably one of my favorite features built into a simple design. It saves so much time in places when it really matters. Cons: The knurling is a little aggressive for my personal taste, but I manage. I could always sand it down. I'd also have preferred if the fat grip could had been freerolling. But that it has a fat grip at all, I'm excited about. Notes: The bar doesn't come as one piece, so you have to add the sleeves. This probably saves Vulcan on cost to get it to a reasonable price point. That said, it still feels like real quality, and I haven't seen any issues. I've used it regularly over five months and it's been loaded well over 300 lbs, and I've never seen an issue. Overall, I can easily recommend this bar and am happy with my purchase. This was not an impulse buy for me. I shopped around and did some research. I hadn't seen a 3rd party video review on this, so I was cautious with my initial purchase, but I'm glad I made it.

The function of the open hex bar is good, but it was packaged poorly and sustained damage during shipping. There were small dents in the bar and chips taken out of the paint from parts that were loose inside the box. Vulcan’s remedy was a small in store credit and a paint kit. The general fit and finish of the bar is a 6/10.

Just received mine last week and though took some getting used to was excellent to use. Wanted a rackable open trap bar and this was the only one matching that bill. Couple things I would recommend changing to make it perfect: 1) make the grips so that they rotate freely. As they are fixed, its awkward to synch up straps. 2) add a handle on front for farmers carry.

Has everything you could want or need in a hex bar. Open design, built-in bar jack, Olympic sleeves, rackable, comes standard with fat grips. The knurling is like a medium-aggressive feel to me. Not super aggressive but closer to a power bar than multi-purpose. Feels good in the hands. Love it. Would buy again.

Hello Jordan, Thank you!

I was fortunate enough to get my Ox bar on Jan 14th 2020 before Covid hit. There were some understandable delays in getting a set of non rotating handles but ultimately the Vulcan Team did a great job on that front. I love the bar and it's versatility, I have had zero issues with it and have been using it 2x weekly since getting it. The fact that it is much more affordable and still built solid is a huge plus. Pleased with my purchase.

Was able to get the OX bar in Jan 2019. Some small issues when it came, then Covid hit causing delays, understandable. The Vulcan team handled the issues well with great communication and transparency. Just got a new set of handles for it this week which have helped make this bar a home run as far as open design trap bars go. Huge plus that they aren’t charging an insane price point as others have. Happy with my purchase. Solid addition.
