“I have two sets of Vulcan bumper plates for barbell super-sets. However, I got these 10lb rubber coated plates so I don't have to jack up the barbell just to add a 10 on a deadlift, bent row, etc. The rubber coating is quiet for early morning basement workouts. The surface finish is acceptable. There are some bumps of extra rubber material; it's not an immaculate surface finish like the Vulcan V-lock 2.5/5lb 100% rubber change plates. The initial rubber smell is medium (based upon my rubber coated purchases) and calms down after 2 weeks.”

“This review applies to all of the rubber coated oly weight plates. I bought individual pairs of these plates. Was a little concerned by some comments about smell. No worries there at all. I wiped them down upon receipt and no smell. Had well over a month now. Great product overall. Excellent construction. Weights are all well within tolerance advertised. The rubber really helps with noise reduction as sometimes I work out early in the morning. The slots in the weights make loading and changing plates super easy. No risk of dropping since you have such good control. Easy for whole family to use. Just waiting for these to be in stock or preorder so I can add a few more!”
