Hi Bonnie, Thank you for your review. Please view the barbell maintenance instructions that can be found here: https://www.vulcanstrength.com/kb_results.asp?ID=2 Rust is caused by perspiration and or ambient moisture. Wiping the barbell down after it is used and treating the barbell with an anti-corrosive lubricant intermittently will reduce or eliminate all oxidation. Reducing the ambient moisture in your training area with a dehumidifier will also greatly reduce any chances of oxidation as well as improve air quality.

“Deciding to leave my local gym, I went online to search for home equipment. This bar was well reviewed and I can see why. I can't imagine a better bar for the price I paid. With weights/bars being so hard to find and price inflation rampant, I respect Vulcan for keeping its prices and free shipping in check. Totally worth the wait.”
