it may be because of the are are i live in (houston, TX) but my bar within the first week my bar started to rust. Not sure if this is a normal thing but its definitely something to consider. Aside from the rust, i love this bar. one of my favorite features is the 28mm diameter of this bar. the knurling is more aggresive than ive been used to and i really like that. i havent tested the whip on this thing because i havent really loaded it with maximal weights. overall i think i made the right choice. maybe vulcan can address my rust issues and why on the first week it was already rusting. i use this for strictly oly lifts and there is little to no sweat involved.

Hi Jose, Thank you for your review. No coating is 100% rust proof unfortunately. In order for a bar to rust there must be moisture or humidity to facilitate the rust. Coatings are sacrificial in nature, meaning they rust to protect the steel underneath from rust. If there is rust, the environment is supporting it. If you are training in a garage which is not climate controlled there may be a great deal of moisture present. In the Houston area most recently there has been severe flooding, which definitely could increase the overall level of humidity. I had read about this barbell. And it really lived up to my hopes. It spins pretty well - especially well for a bushing barbell - and the whip is really noticeable. The knurling is so comfortable and yet the grip you get is really positive because the special dense matte chrome finish gives plenty of friction. In terms of hand-feel and whip this is such a comfortable barbell. Its not flexible by any means nor does it feel soft. Its just that realistically for people like me who don't lift at competition levels the slightly increased whip at lower weights is appreciated. This barbell really is perfect for me.

I bought the Elite primarily as a deadlift bar. I wanted a bar that had some whip to help off of the floor and was strong enough to handle big weights. I was pleasantly surprised. The Elite has great whip, but feels very strong. Some complain about the finish, but I like it and to be frank aesthetics is not high on my list of priorities when purchasing a barbell. The bar has excellent knurling, whip and strength. I really enjoy using it.

I've owned this bar for more than an year now. I have really come to enjoy the whip and thing it has more than the Eleiko bar I use at another barbell club. Knurl is nice and i dont tape for hook grip because it is sticky, yet easy on the skin. I will say that though I would like the center one just a touch more aggressive (for back squat stickiness). Guys at the box will grab it if I'm not around and dont mind sharing. It is durable and still spins way smooth. I use for everything from WODs, to classic oly, and power-lifting.

Just got this bar in as a replacement for the V1 bar I had. This bar feels amazing, I really like the finish compared to the first one I had. The knurling is great, not too sharp, but deep enough for a good solid grip. Vulcans Customer Service is great as well as they sent me this bar as a direct replacement for the V1 I had that had a rare warrenty issue. If this bar is an upgrade from the V1 then it will be by far the best bar I will ever use, the V1 was the bar I used for everything and so will this. The rotation is awesome, and the flex is great. Thank you so much for making a great product and sticking behind it. I recommend your bars to everyone I know.

I couldn't be happier with this bar. I decided on this over Rogue or American Barbell bars and don't regret it a bit, even after recently lifting on all 3. The finish distinguishes it from many other bars, and I don't mind that its not shiny like many others. The collars and the sleeves more than make up for it. The performance is exactly what Vulcan says it is. You will not want to lift on any other bar (besides, perhaps a $1000+ professional bar) after lifting on this. It is grippy beyond belief without tearing up your hands, and the bar whips at 200lbs, even more so at 250+. If you can only buy one bar, this is the one! Vulcan knows their stuff, and was very helpful when I callled.

This bar has the best knurling and finish I have ever touched. It's not sharp or smooth, it's just sticky and really well done. The sleeves are beautiful, too, and the slipperiness makes it easy to get plates on and off. The satin finish on shaft isn't as pretty, but I don't care about that, it's training equipment, and it keeps the bar from sliding in your hands. Overall I'm very happy with this bar.
