I ordered the standard bearer bar and it arrived in good condition and no damage. The quality is very evident in the knurling and sleeve bushings. Sleeve spin is excellent and makes Olympic lifts much easier on my wrists. This bar should last decades in by basement gym with proper bar maintenance

I've been using this bar for the past month, and love it. Knurling is aggressive without being too sharp or deep. It provides great contact with the bar without being uncomfortable. Spin is comparable to much more expensive bars, like my Werksan competition bar; it spins smoothly without the excessive play sometimes round on cheaper bearing bars.

I have slowly been buying equipment for a lifting platform in my garage. I was finally at the stage where I was ready to buy a bar. In the last 5 years or so I have lifted regularly on DHS, Elieko, and Rogue Burgener bars. I was looking to buy a bearing bar that performed well, but was a manageable cost. I took a gamble on this Vulcan bar after never using one, but I had heard good things. I have been pleasantly surprised with this bar. I wanted to wait a few weeks before writing a review so I could really get a feel for this bar. The bar spins great, no issues, no sticking, nothing. It has very nice whip to it as well. I really like the knurling. It isn't crazy aggressive like an American Barbell, but it isn't made for people with dish washer's hands like the Rogue Bars. Just the right amount. I would say this is one of the best "bang for your buck" bars out there. Well done.

Very pleased to have a standard 28mm bar in my collection. Makes oly lifts so much cleaner with the needle bearings and the ability to hook grip with ease. Haven't tried a better bar at this price point. Definitely recommend to those who practice oly lifts and wish to improve upon them.

I have been using the Vulcan standard bearing barbell for 2 weeks. Shipping: 7 days to ship from NC to GA from the day I ordered it. The package it came in protected the bar well. Knurl: I like the knurl. The knurling is undoubtedly aggressive. It is great for the Olympic lifts, but you should not expect to do heavy accessory exorcises like Romanian deadlifts for more than 3 reps at a time without tearing into your hands. No center knurl. Whip: This barbell has much more whip than the general use CrossFit bars that I have been using. I think the whip is the same as the DHS bar I have used and more than the Pendlay and Rogue Olympic bars. When extending with this bar, in the same way that other manufacturers advertise a patented “feel”, this bar has a very nice feeling. Spin: The turnover is smooth. Coming from using a CrossFit bar, it makes a noticeable difference. If I put weight on the sleeve and spin it, it will spin forever. The sleeves do not have any wiggle that would cause me to think they would might eventually breakdown like some of the other bars in this price range that I have seen. Collars: Despite the ribbing on the sleeves, they are very slippery. They do not just have oil that wears away after a couple of uses; they just do not hold weight in place without a collar. This is fine if you don’t mind readjusting the weight after each rep, but you might have to use collars more often with this bar. Coating: It has a nice polish. It is a pretty bar. Overall: It feels like an engineered product that had a high level of craftsmanship go into it. I am very happy with my purchase. I don’t expect to ever have to buy another barbell. Additionally, I want to point out that the customer service at Vulcan is exceptional. Someone clearly decided that they would have excellent customer service. I asked several barbell manufacturers some questions about their bars and Vulcan was the only one to not answer with branded marketing nonsense. If you have a question, you should ask them.

After doing lots of research, I settled on the Vulcan standard bearing bar. It has fantastic knurling, spin and whip. It performs just as good as any of the iwf European bars, for a fraction of the cost. I recommend this bar to anyone looking for a good Olympic bar at a reasonable price.
