“These really are natural look and would probably be best described as giving a rustic finish. The tiles vary in size (by 2-3mm) and thickness (quite substantially) and finish. They also flake quite a lot and can be tricky to cut cleanly. The tiler ended up laying them with a wide grout gap (3-5mm to compensate for the size variation) and making the best job of the differing thicknesses by varying the amount of adhesive and selecting similar tiles. We're pretty happy with the finished look, although I can't help feeling that the pictures on the website are slightly misleading.”
“Very good quality slate tiles, these are the uncalibrated ones, so thicknesses do vary, but creates a stunning rustic finish, looks amazing on our kitchen floor”
“I ordered 44 slates (needed 40 but extra in case of breakages by me). Some came in two boxes of 10 each - these were fine. The rest were wrapped in cling film and rather loose and these were of variable quality. I accept that thickness will vary but some slates varied from c 10mm thick at one area down to (in my opinion) an unacceptable 3-4mm in another area so I did not use 4 of these but did have to use a couple of other similar 'iffy' ones - hopefully the extra adhesive I put down to compensate will help them stand the test of time. The appearance of the slates was good overall. Price was v competitive.”
