“The tiles are beautiful and make our false chimney breast look perfect, however they were very difficult to cut which did mean having to buy more tiles due to breakages. I am not sure how the tiles are stored in your warehouse but there must have been some cold/moisture that had got to them because they were a little moist which meant that they cracked/flaked as soon as they were cut so we had to be very careful with them.”
“By their very nature these slate tiles are delicate and prone to break or splinter along natural flaws so expect this, I also suffered a couple of tiles separating where the glue had not fully adhered. This being said I purchased six square metres of slate tiles to enclose a chimney breast in our living room and in total I would estimate that only six tiles failed due to flaws and three as a result of glue failing, I cut these tiles to produce the staggered effect on the wall to avoid horizontal lines forming as the rows of tiles are laid so wastage was kept to a minimum. The tiles are easy if very messy to cut, note they can be trimmed with a hacksaw if required! Because of the rustic effect being achieved laying them is simply avoiding the normal tile laying precision. Finished with a tile sealer for a satin/gloss sheen depending on the amount of coats the end result is fantastic if I say so myself..... I would happy attached photo but laptop refusing to download, would say it's as good as pictures on Walls & Floors Website. I would happily recommend these tiles.”
